Whats your favorite neck knife?

Whats your favorite neck knife?
That's a good question. Why not ask it twice? :D

I have a Kurt Meerdink mini-hunter I wear a lot. I also have a Simonich Bitteroot which is about the same size and I wear as much. Sometimes I like to take my Mission MPU or Busse Assault Shaker along instead, if I'm going for a walk in the woods.

Currently, My Tom Krein TK-4. I don't normally wear neck knives, but this fits very comfortably on me.

Esav - what steel is the mini-hunter? Can you post a pic or point me in the right direction to see one online. In advance, thank you.

It's a bit of a tie between my two Ansø (small Sheepsfoot + "Nasty Necker") and my Busse Assault Shaker!
I seldom carry any of them around the neck (illegal as anything else here in Denmark) and I don't really like having stuff around my neck anyway. Usually they are just dropped in a frontpocket or on the belt.

Quiet Bear, I can't help you with a picture. Chad Pirtle has one of the handle of his "Cahill's Gold", very slightly longer than mine, at the bottom of this page and the blade is a slim drop point, deeply hollow ground, ATS-34, 1/8" stock. It is a custom, and basically made of steel and handle material left over from larger knives -- mine is Madrone burl. I've seen quite a few of Kurt's tiny knives, always very neatly done, so it's something you'd probably have to ask him to make up. I would rate his Kydex sheaths right up there with Bob Dozier's.

My Simonich mid-tech Bitteroot probably gets the most carry time, since I can wear it under a dress shirt. Favorite status is a toss up between a Dozier Razorback and an RW Clark wharncliffe mini. Of course, that could change when my Tom Krein TK-1 shows up.

Esav Benyamin, what - will they let anyone be a moderator at this place? ;)

Here's a better shot of the Meerdink, guy does good work. This is my dedicated car piece so it does not see much neck time but it's definitely a candidate as a favorite neck knife.

Here's the neck rotation I use in no particular order:

Allen Blade Talonite Chipmunk
Dozier Razorback
Diotte Jellyroll damascus wharncliffe (which is by far the coolest neck knife I've ever owned, sorry no picture currently)

I also carry a Denning Black Widow in a neck rig from time to time, it's a little big and most people wouldn't want to use it as a necker.

I have three favorites.
cheapest Rekat drop point utility
most elegant neil blackwood clip point bird& trout with spalted maple scales and D2 steel. a perfect neck knife.
next and my best for hunting and tougher tasks a jones bros necker JK29 I believe is the model.with D2 and ironwood scales when my son saw mine he ordered one also.
my favorite wharnie is a TL hearn with blue mivarta scales.

That's an easy one - A Polkowski CQ4 with the IWB clip cut off and some paracord added. It's the 4" version of the CQ and is PERFECT. Just big enough for neck carry to not be too big.

My EDC is a Tom Krein TK1 and my occasional rotation is an Emerson Lagriffe
Both are perfect sternum placement :)
TK1 has no print and a handy D2 blade.

Lagriffe is a great blade easy access from the sheath

I'm sorry, Tom, but with that second picture, we're going to have to move this thread to Whine & Cheese. :grumpy:

For the rest of you ... please ignore the interruption above ... I got a chance to hold Tom's TK1 last weekend and was very impressed with the handling characteristics. Very comfortable, and obviously lightweight. Beautiful workmanship.

Move the thread, hell, you should ban him for the public display of male nipple ;) :D
