What's your favorite set up?

One of my favorite combo setups

I own an AD, FBM, BATAC, Swamp Warden.

Had a meaner and a FSH.

Always carry my small classic Sebenza, and my Wenger evogrip18 SAK.

In addition to those two folders I'd take my AD and FBM, I could do just about anything with that combo

Who did the Sheathe for you?

I make them. It's actually 2 seperate sheaths. An in-the-waistband/belt sheath for the SK, and a HR sheath. I try to make all my sheaths so there's multiple attachment options and belt loop configurations. I have an ASH-1/GW combo set up that seems to work well also that I want to try out this camping this spring. I can pretty much mate any of my sheaths together in some sort of combo. I need to make a new one for a basic 9 that I picked up, and maybe add a swamp warden or AD to it.

Glad you liked it.

I find that I use a small knife much more often, so I tend to always carry a small one. Often I'll carry something larger too, although that may be a hatchet. In terms of Busses, my set up would pretty much be Game Warden & FFBM. In reality, I'll often carry the Game Warden, and something not quite as heavy as the FFBM with it. The FFBM is all kinds of great, and fun to use, but it is pretty heavy.

My kit was always CS Trail Master w/ Gerber Parabellum(camo) for camping.
For "trail blazing" I carried CS TM and Ontario Machette.
For Camping/Diving (Lake Champlain etc) I used the Buckmaster LT modified for carry on front of lower leg.
Depending on conditions a good Axe in the pack never hurts along with the obligatory multi tool.
I am hoping to upgrade to a Chop/GW setup in the future but I'll always have use of a good cheap machette and/or axe they dont weigh much for the benifits IMHO.

Small knife always gets carried - usually a 3" folder. Rarely, I'll leave that home in favor of a leatherman micra, which is carried mostly for the scissors but also has a small detail blade.

Next most frequent carry is 3" folder and 4-5" fixed blade. The fixed blade is big enough for batoning firewood and cutting sticks up to ~3" diameter. Mean Street or Badger gets it done. This would be a moderate backpacking load - enough to complete all reasonable tasks without excess weight.

If I anticipate chopping something, the middle of the busse line comes into play. SFNO or Satin Jack with the folder. I'll also carry the bigger knife if I'm not going very far (day hiking in sheeple-less places).

I'm considering going with a Nessmuk combo - hatchet and 4" fixed blade.

At the moment, my user FBM LE and a Custom AD (in USAF Blue ... thanks Boss!!).

BUT I'm an experimentalist.

I also like, for the big knife: FFBM, SH-E, HHFSH, and a unique FBM/Bolo hybrid the Boss made last year. I'm getting a Basic 9 to try out, also.

I also like, for the smaller knife: various GWs, several other ADs, and I've been thinking of trying out some user Meaners//Meaner Leaners.

Once I get past this phase, I think I'll start into the upper mid-size knife plus small knife scenario starring:
-Mid-size: user SFNO or NO-E or Chopweiler
-Small: definitely the RMD or Ratmandu. This is an EXCELLENT knife!!

I'll probably never settle on a perfect combo. But what fun I'll have experimenting. :D

My SFNO is my biggest knife and it will remain that way since I usually have a tomahawk or hatchet. I am trying to line up a Tan Cultie and Game Warden Combo as my companions (as funds allow;)) until the MiniMuk hits the woods.

It's not INFI, but my Koster Bushcraft/Nessmuk Combo is very hard to beat as well.

I am still for the 3 blade theory. Not much(if anything)I cant get done with these guys. Might add a GW at times as well. When i lived up north it was a Fiskars hatchet intead of the machete though.

For the record:
Incolma 18" machete
Victorinox Farmer
Busse ASH

I am finding I can't go without my Vic Farmer. I even bought one and put it away for my youngest.

so far, from what I've actually carried and used, I have a proposed favorite set...

my eventually to be here (i'm at the 2 year mark now) custom batac skinner (thin, no choil)
and a hogsjtacle. the skinner on the right hip, and the hogsjtacle on the left.

I'd love to say the moab and my skinner, or my skinner and a hogfsh (wich is the most solid feeling knife i've ever handled), but for actual daily carry, the skinner/hogsjtacle would be very doable. I carried a .220 sj le with a customized recurve sj skinner for about 2 years and never had any problems with weight, or what the combo could handle. I switched over to the hogfsjtacle when they came out, and I liked the additional weight and handle ergonomics.

having never handled a sfno, hr, f1, or ash1 I can't say if I'd be comfortable wearing them daily or not. all I have now is a batac, so I'm just going off of memory and what I hope will be here eventually.

I'm thinking a cultellus and a sfno would be a mighty fine combo also.
