what's your favorite slippy pattern?

Probably the stockman as I think it is the most versitile....but wait, there is my peanut.....and then the single blades slippies, love those......Hey - this is too hard of a question.

A two bladed jack, on the small side I like the Schrade 33OT and my all time favorite is the Case 6292.

I love the 6292 also. It's a great feeling knife, and it's never too small, but carries well.

I carry one a lot.

Man it would be HARD for me to lock down on only one pattern to choose from. I really like three, folding hunters, copperheads, and stockmans. I use the folding hunters for hunting (suprise), the copperheads are mini folding hunters and they let me use a "folding hunter" knife when the big hunters are simply too big, and the stockmans are the all purpose everday use for everything type knife, with three blades to choose from. IF I could only choose one, I guess it would have to be a large stockman pattern like the Case 75. That would be big enough to take over the hunting chores with the main blade, but still small enough to be pocketable and have the other two blades to use for for whatever.

JD - why don't you send me the third one from the left. It's obvious you aren't using it to its full potential. It is probably suffering from neglect and harboring feelings of inadequacy. :D

I recently discovered the Cannitler; I have one from Canal Street Cutlery, and it is my new favorite knife.

Hey Zip-you know the others would be lonely without their big brother!!!;)

My favorite Pattern would have to be the large stockman.
Too bad, that the only slippies that are popular here in germany, are the SAK.
Its not like they are bad knives, but I just like the stockman pattern.
But my favorite stockman (case 3492 CV bone stag) costs 80€ (about 115 bucks) here.

the old elephant toenail, even though i dont have one:(.
(i can dream cant i!)
Just something about that pattern just grabbed me, i had never seen a pocket knife quite like it, when i stumbled on a picture started reading round here and the elephant toe collector site i was even more intrigued.
now its a quest to find one, hopefully theres one out there with my name on it:) that or i need to start buying lotto tickets

Quit dreamin' and start buyin" There are a number of Sunfish (my favorite name...I was born and raised in the northern midwest) out there for sale. Bulldog offers some nice ones, from time to time, and there are some Chinese versions that can be found at places like Smoky Mountain Knife Works. My favorites have been the versions that have been offered by Blue Grass Cutlery.

Blue Grass' prices seem to reflect how much they value their knives. (A lot!) That having been said, their high-end knives, which are mostly made by Queen, are some really nice knives. My favorite version is the equal-end 4-inch model. It is "hell for stout", its 1095 carbon steel blades are real "cutters", and its wide handle has a very secure "hand feel". If I were to compare the knife to one of another pattern I would say that the knife cuts and handles like a "Canoe on streroids". SMKW had a few at a bit over a hundred bucks, the last time I checked.

One drawback that these knives is that their robust construction makes them relatively heavy for their size. This is especially true for examples that are handled in bone or pearl. In this respect, the 4-inch version is not TOO heavy in the pocket. Larger version, e.g. the 4-1/4 inchers, can encourage one to wear both suspenders and a belt!
