I'm a big fan of smaller knives I have a mini canadian and love it. was wondering what your favorite small bar river is? I've been looking at the Huntsman, the lil'creek or the woodland special....Also I was wondering if anyone knows if the micro II has the same size cutting edge as the mini canadian. Thanks.

I have a mini-canadian as well and nothing could make me part with it. I also have 2 of the OMFs. They might actually be too small for me....but I've not used either enough to form a complete opinion.

My favourite is the PSK. It is my EDC neck knife, almost as big as a Fallkniven WM1,but no noticeable weight. And wicked sharp. I also have a Snowy River to play with, but no experiences to report yet.

i carry a mini canadian everyday. the mikro canadian rests in the safe now

Right now my mini Northstar KF edition. Great user EDC model, but sadly, my hands are just too big for it.

I love my Mini-Canadian too - and it's probably my favorite small Barkie. But I actually wear either a Mikro or Mikro II as an edc more frequently, due to legal and sheeple issues.

BTW, the blade on the Mikro or Mikro II (identical except for steel and blade thickness) is just a bit smaller than the Mini.

The newer Pro-Scalpels are nice too. Very similar to a Mikro-Canadian with a little different grip.

They have recently come out with the Pro-Scalpel. This is basically a Mikro-II with a slightly pointier grind. Both make excellent EDC knives as they are compact but powerhouse cutters. The new Mikro-II's and Pro Scalpels (as well as the PSK) are ground from .096 " steel so they slice a little better than the chunky original Mikro.

All 3 of those knives are 3 finger users- but they cut like no one's business.

My current edc is a PSK. In its kydex sheath, it almost disappears in the pocket. It also wears well around the neck or in the KSF pocket sheath.

Also, they are coming out with a beefed up version of the Pro Scalpel next year. This would be a good one if you're looking for a more substantial blade.

Be careful with Barkies though. As it is said, "once you have been seduced by the Bark side, forever it will control your destiny."

For a knife I didn't give a second look to at first, the Mini-Canadian has won my respect. In fact, I didn't care for the whole Canadian line...but now...love them.

Mini-Canadian for me--it works in my hand better than the others.

Hey Riley
Another small bark river to look at is the Black Water Boot knife it has a longer and thinner blade than a mikro- canadian and made of 12c27 stainless, overall length is only about 11/2 in. longer than the mikro canadian its a very good slicer and gets alot of use in my kitchen.

I like the boot knife. Great shape and feel to it. I can often just drop it in a pocket and carry it on a hike. It and the sheath it comes with are a little fat for a neck knife, where I like to carry my small fixed blades though.

I just got a Huntsman. It's a beautiful little knife, and I'd love to be able to carry it, but the handle is too small for my hands. I'm going to put it up for sale in a couple days, and use the proceeds to try another Bark River with a fatter handle. Oddly enough, my Boker Arbolito Hunter has a similar sized handle to the Huntsman, but fits my hand great. If BR would copy this design in A2 with a convex grind, it would be my perfect knife.
