I can't pick just one. Plus, "favorite" is subjective. I'd say my favorite slipjoint is my Case/Bose 2004 muskrat, but I don't carry it all that often, because it's so nice, expensive, and hard to replace. Most often I carry my wharncliffe mini trapper, but, although I like it, it's not my "favorite". I've got a 1973 (two, actually) Case 6318HE, and it's one of the nicest, most all-around perfect EDCs, yet I never carry them, instead choosing my 1974 6332 or 1980 6318HE (which is thicker/longer/heavier than the 1973).
Here's a quick and crappy pic I took a while ago of the various slipjoint traditionals I carry with any regularity.
Usually one of these. But for the past few months I've been taking part of forums member grateful's experiment, and have only been carrying my peanut as an edc pocket knife. The peanut, in truth is my usual edc for the past few years, with dalliances with a fe other knives here and there, but always back to the peanut. I like it's style, very compact closed dimensions, and the fact that for my life style and geography, it works as well as anything else.
I'm trying to figure this out for myself right now. It seems to be coming down to 3.5" closed length single blades at the moment. No particular pattern however.
Hard for me to pin down a true favorite. I have a number of different knives that I alternate between as the mood and need dictate. Most recently I've been carrying a Case 6318 medium stockman in SS more often than others. And a Victorinox Cadet has found its way into a pocket most days too.
I guess one of my true favorites is the Case Small Texas Jack. It just hasn't been up to bat much recently. Here's a pic of it as requested.
My favorite for the past several months has been this muscrat that Bret Dowell made for me back in June, it's been in my pocket just about every day since then.
Welcome to BladeForums Big Papa! These little fellers serve my needs quite well, and one or the other is always in my pocket: GEC Pemberton or Conductor. If forced to choose just one I'd go with the Conductor - I like the way the natural bone is aging on it vs. the acrylic on the Pemberton.
