What's your favorite Spyderco custom collaboration?

Fred Perrins stuff all the way. Spyderco's got one of the hands down all time greatest lineups of collaborations and I wouldn't turn down any of them but for me I'm just a fan of Perrins stuff.

Starmate - I'll never understand why this knife didn't sell.

Chinook (If you count the Chinook as "custom")

Starmate and c-15 The Mighty bob T! Lum chinese-the most beautiful folder out there..JD smith, and of course, the Bram Frank Gunting..The compression lock is the coolest invention ever. the Gunting is just incredibly designed, not any part of that knife is not well thought out..oh, the spydercard, the most sensible wallet knife ever..Joe

Favorite collaborations that I own: Shabaria, Viele, Herbst ti
Favorite collaboration that I wish I owned: CF Walker

If I had to pick just one it would be the Shabaria for its unusual, functional, and easy to carry design.

Lum Chinese folder.

I'm with Harry on the Lum Chinese. I have yet to see a production folder from any company as nice as the Chinese. It's a piece of art, and an awesome slicer.

Hey Ceya, the Bob "T" C15 is the one that started it all.

I love my Bob T C15 - it used it heavily for a few years before spending time on here and realising that it had some collector value. Still as smooth as butter, lock as solid as ever, locking bar still hits exactly the same spot on ramp. I've never seen it's equal, then again I've never seen a sebbie.

I know Papa Spyder considers it an in-house, but the Dodo is my favorite custom-collaborated Spyderco followed by the Manix.

Anyone else grunt like a beast while using the Manix?

The Viele was a beautiful model and probably one of the best. It is a good example of how a design can be eliminated when a cheaper version comes into the marketplace. The CRKT Viele was smaller, les expensive, lower quality (IMO) and stole the market. Sales on the Spyderco Viele declined significantly after the CRKT intro. It was a shame because we'd just upgraded the design to VG-10 and added the concave arc ramp like the military has.

I have a C-15, part serrated, a C-19, and a C-55 StarMate. The StarMate is my all-time favorite folder, bar none, and I look forward to the possibility that Sal and his horde might actually bring it back into production, perhaps with S30V steel and a Compression Lock? Yeah, perfection. Well, maybe if they offered us some options in color for the G-10 scales, it might make perfection slightly better.

The D'Alton Holder Toad!

You really have to get your hands on one to really appreciate the quality and genius of the design.

Allen.
