Yea man a SAK plus whatever flavor knife you like on the side is an awesome combo. I also carried a Leatherman everyday until a couple weeks ago. Just trying to go a little more lightweight. I hear ya on the small EDC. I've been enjoying some larger knives lately, but you're absolutely right, for most of my every day needs I can get along just fine with a smaller knife. I really like to carry my Kershaw Scallion on small knife days, that thing cuts like a demon with the recurve and, even though the handle's small, the way it's shaped makes it feel much bigger.I find myself doing the same.....carrying a Spyderco of some sort (usually the Techno 2) and a SAK, usually the Pioneer X but sometimes a Tinker.
The older I get, the smaller my EDC needs get.
Also the older I get, the less I use my traditionals due to negotiating the nail nicks with arthritic hands...
