Although we get a lot of knife movie threads, there aren't many knife specific movies, so whats your favourite knife scene in any movie. (or TV)

For a fight scene, I quite liked the bit at the end of Gladiator where Commodus pulls a dagger from his gauntlet was pretty cool. Although there was a good bit in Streets of Fire where michael pare takes a bali from a punk (hitting him a couple of times in the process), flips it, gives it back and tells him to try again.

For a general scene it would be the bit in Aliens where Bishop does the between the fingers thing.

What's your favourite?

Benicio Del Torro vs. Tommy Lee Jones in The Hunted

Edit:
also, that old movie called Exposure with Peter Coyote, had a great knife fight @ the end...

Ya wanta knife fight in a movie?
Go see The Chronicles of Riddick, opening night was last night, i was there.
Vin Diesel stars, and his character's weapon of choice is most definitely "the knife."
Now THAT has knife fights: versus guys with other knives, and axes, spears, guns, etc.
The axiom of that film, is: Never underestimate the guy with the knife; he knows how to use it.
ciao for now...

PS: Yes, "The Hunted" was a GREAT film, especially for the knifery...
Tom Brown, Jr. designed the chopper knife Benicio Del Toro uses/makes.
He was my childhood hero of survival & tracking, outdoor living, etc.

I haven't seen Riddick yet. The "Hunted" was definatly good. I'm a big Steven Segal fan and he is a BIG knife fan.

I loved the knife fight in Commando between Arnold and the big guy at the end. Also a big fan of the "switch fight" in West Side Story, though every time I think of it, I start humming that damned song! :)

Young Guns II had a good knife fight between Dave Rudabaugh with a large bowie and Chavez y Chavez with a double bladed finger ring knife (karambit?).

I think "The Hunted" was awfully darned good with the edged stuff, but I did like that scene in "Streets of Fire" mentioned above.

What about "Cyborg" with Jean Cluck Van Dumb???? That movie was loaded with knife fights. Loved it when I was in 10th grade (when it first came out). I used to like and see how many of the knives I could identify (admit it...you all did the same thing).

Okay its a short scene But James Coburn in the magnificent 7. Tried that move a thousand times as a kid.

"Nevada Smith", between Steve McQueen and Martin Landau.

No "fencing", with impossible parries. Didn't last long once they closed.
The winner got sliced up pretty bad. It ended while both were on the ground in the dirt. A lot closer to real life than most movie fights.

Yeah it even spawned a lawsuit...Van Dumbass blinded a stunt man in one eye with a prop knife during filming. The guy sued Van Damn and the film company, but lost...I watched the trial on Court TV.

The Hunted and Under Seige are both great knife action movies and i haven't seen The Chronicles of Riddick yet, but two of my favorites are both versions of Frank Herbert's DUNE. The knife fights aren't very realistic, but they look COOL!

Chow Yun Fat in "Full Contact".

The first fight I mean. The one at the end where he throws his balisong into the bad guy's hand was a bit unrealistic.
