DDR custom Mad Maxx 4"

I almost ordered one of the big HTM DDR MAXX 5.5's for $439. What's different about the custom other than the inlays and blade steel? They're mega-expensive but the one I'm talking about is much less. Aren't they both handmade or what? I'm trying to get the difference between the ones on the home page and the ones in the custom shop I supppose.

Very similar, I noticed a couple of little fancy things but not much, so there must be something. Like a Hinderer with different types of custom blade grinds blade ground completely "in house" compared to his production blade which is made "out of house" and then he puts the edge on it and assembles the rest of it which is made "in house."
