Whats your loudest/noisiest balisong?

The question stems from presonal experiences... Im a college student and I live in the dorms. In case you dont know, dorm life is really cozzy(sp?) and the sound of a clicking bali travels far. Friends tell me they can hear me all the way down the hall when Im flipping. I dont even want to know what other people that don't know my hobby think.

Anyway, the breakdown from softest to loudest for me is my bottom of the line FHM, then my tiny pakistani manila cheapie, my heavy brass frost, then the obnoxiously loud upper end china cheapy with big heavy machined aluminum handles. People on the floor above me can hear that one.

I drove Carl George and George And Son crazy for a long time looking for BMs with pure notes. Some just have the exact perfect geometry to sound a pure note. I like that.

I would have to say my loudest bali would be my Taylor Golden Dragon. Between the solid brass handles and SS blade, not to mention the pure heft of it, it can be rather loud when working it.

Next up would have to be my Frost Cutlery bali from the early 80's, but that one I dont consider noise, more like music to my ears.

My BM 44S is really loud, much more so than my Jaguar. I think that it is a combination of the quality of the steel and the fact that the Jaguar has coated handles.

Aerials with the 44S sound like a swordfight. My mother can hear it from the driveway.

The only noise is the latch being thumbed open. My openings and closings are done quietly(deliberately).

The loudest balisong I have is a Valor "Samurai Warrior". The handles are worn so bad from the pin, that they slap together with a loud wack! the blade and latch are also a little loose, providing a serious click-click-click between the wacks. I've had the knife for maybe 15 years, and it has stood up countless cement floors and hours of manipulation. I wish I could find two or three of them still in new condition.

Hello!

The loudest bali i've ever had was the plastic handled Finnish Hackman knives, they wasn't just loud they were x-tremely loud! like BANG-BANG, BANG-BANG, my mother always got hysterical when i only had those to play with...

A pity i don't have any of them left, as is the case with a lot of my balisongs that has been given to friends and what else...

Anyway, be well!/Jonas aka 2Sharp
