What's your memory knife?

300Bucks - REALLY cool story. Really says a lot about the durability of SAK's.

I've found two, both run over, and a few minutes of work brought them back for years of service.

thx - cpr

A Microtech SOCOM that was with me while I lived in Asia, A custom Balisong that was a constant companion during the 80's and a Vic Super Tinker that I have had for about 30 years.

I have a few, a yeller handled Imperial anglers knife, takes me back to fishing with Pops when I was a kid. A Gerber LST, my wet work knife, when I could hump a deer back to the truck without stopping lol. I had more stamina than extra cash back then.:D And my most recent memory knife is a S&M F&W Trapper that I carried in Africa.

I just read "Just Like Dads" and it made me think of mine(great piece Jackknife!). The difference is mine is almost just like granddad's or pe paw as I always called him.

I field dressed my first turkey with my Robeson slim line Trapper for our first Thanksgiving meal in our new home. My grandfather's favorite knife was his bear head Case version and he used it until it was plumb worn out.

The blades are worn down and they wobble something awefull but I'm keeping it anyway!

Great thread guys. Oh, all the old knives that have vanished into the mist o' time . I remember going to a NRA gun show in Louisville, circa 1965. My old man had gotten a notion to go. ANY way, i had 50 cents to spend and was determined to buy a knife. I was let loose to run all around and looked everywhere. (my how things have changed) I found one dealer that had a table full of colorfull knives for $.98. I went back to Mom and begged another quarter, so now I had $.75. I do not know where I got the Moxie, but I started to haggle with this vendor on price. He finally said, "just take the damn thing" and tossed me a knife. I was exstatic, almost peed myself. It was a small jack knife with celluloid scales. Had it for a few years and finally lost it mowing the yard. Found it a couple of summer later , just a ball of rust.
