What's your most expensive custom EDC?

a smaller Mark Sentz field grade Moran style folder. I was one that he carried for a little while so it was disocounted. I recall that it was somewhere around $500. Lately, I have been carrying my Caffrey EDK.

A William Henry Limited Addition T-10 Lancet folder with cocobolo handle scales and carved sterling silver fittings ($500).
And a Fisk production model hunter (Brazil), which sold for about $200 including a nice tooled leather sheath and wood presentation box. Anthony Lombardo writes about this model in Blade (May ’07 pg. 25-26).

Well, I just got a $500 RJ Martin Devistator...

You know, speaking of RJ, I have a proto that he made, and when I mentioned that I was going to put it under glass, he pointedly told me not to do that and to put it on my belt and actually use it. I do! I also have a Devastator, and carry that one as well. I think its the biggest compliment you can give a maker that you actually like their knives enough to carry them and use them. I know RJ would be really happy to know that you're carrying your Devastator.

By they way, the Devastator is the most expensive knife I EDC. Just something satisfying when you hear that "CLICK" as the blade flips out, you know?!? Of COURSE you do :D !! Congrats on the Martin!

just started to carry this after a couple of monthes of just looking at it.

it was a cristmas gift to my father last year.
he died in january and I carry now carry it.
it is truly priceless.

I am deeply sorry for the loss of your father Brian. That indeed IS a priceless knife.

I carry a JL Williams carved framelock flipper that I paid $2500 for. The way I look at it is, if I'm going to carry a knife that is supposed to last me a lifetime, why not have it be a nice one?

Agreed! The lockup is absolutely amazing; zero blade play in any direction. I'm tempted to buy a Havoc now!

I'm tempted to buy a Havoc now!

Yeah, the Havoc is quite nice! The blade grind on those is really trippy. I mean, your eyes tell you there's three different colors of black on that blade, but when you're holding it, its all one! Very weird, and yet quite satisfying!

Got it used at about 600ish, stag handle, just awesome. Its classic and custom all at the same time. Like everything Don makes, it is tops.

I carry and use an SR Johnson fixed blade and Kit Carson folder every day in the Ghan. I suppose you can look at Steve's price list and assign a value and add on an aftermarket premium, but it was a gift from Steve, so it is a priceless link to a close friend (and Julie Warenski engraved my initials on one of the pins). Both knives are scratched, scuffed and sharpened multiple times.

Oh yeah, Kit is a good friend too:)

My Obie model 2. Love this knife! Natural G10, D2 blade, ti bolsters and liners, it just doesn't get any better. I don't carry it every day though, but a few times a week. If I lost it, I'd most likely die.

I regularly carry a multiblade slipjoint by Bose, Chamblin, Burke, etc. I love the look and feel of carrying a using a high end custom knife. Of course, the problem is not in the using, but in the carrying, as all the rest of the crap in my pockets will bang against it...so I have any one of a number of pouch systems for my pockets to insulate the knife.

As someone pointed out--all of these knives are built to last--for all intents and purposes--forever. So why not make them work for a living?:D

I am a big fan of MIke Obenauf's work!! I currently own 3 of his knives. I have 2 small model 2 framelocks; one with a clip point blade and the other with a drop point blade. And a #4.

I have a beat up Ken Onion carved Melee I paid $750 for, but with a refurb it's worth 4X that easily.
