First off happy new year to everyone...
Now whats your plan for knife purchase in 2009? Give sort of a realistic wish list as to what you want to buy or have made or what you will be looking for in Pawn shops or Swap meets / Gun shows or Garage sales... I plan on trying to find a ~Discontinued~ Cold Steel Carbon V Trapper and or Hunter Classic. I would like to pick up an Extrema Ratio Fulcrum II. Also I would like to have a Custom Sodbuster made from Carbon Fiber and BG-42 this year. From there I'm going to play it by ear...

What say you???? Thanks!!! ~kevin~

No plans here for anything in particular. I'll just be watching for good prices here or on ebay, and maybe grab a slipjoint as the opportunity presents itself.

In the past 3 days, I've purchased a Shrade USA Uncle Henry, Queen Canoe and beater Military, so I hope to cool it for at least a while.

Unless i lose or break one i won't be needin anything new but i'll keep you notified if somthin come up..

Emerson HD-7 if I can find the cash before the last one sells out at my preferred retailer.
Love those Emerson frame-locks!

Short list this year as I want to stay on budget and end '09 with a little more than a pot to pee in. Short list: Rat cutlery Izula, Cold steel SRK, Zero Tolerance folder(haven't decided which one) and maybe a knife kit or two. Maybe list:Something from scrapyard. The I hit the lottery list: A knife or two from lightfoot. As for knife related things I want to learn to make leather and kydex sheaths. Going to start with kydex and see how that works out and take it from there.

I may seek out one of my holy grails....the Hinderer XM-18 in orange.

I will have to liquidate some of my nicer Spyderco's to do this, that's the problem.

Get my Lahar re-handled (leaves tomorow for Fod here on the forums). Get a decent small fixed blade for EDC *not sure which one, but i will figure that out later. prolly a Becker*. Pick up some of Kershaw's new offerings through the year, nothing major really.

Well I seem to be undergoing a tactical to slip-joint revolution. I realized that I don't need a 1/4 inch thick spine with the best lock ever to open mail and stuff. This year will be a transition to the knives of our fathers and grandfathers.

Baba your taste in knives seems to mirror mine, all of those stag handles.
I really like that Schatt and Morgan Gunstock you've got.

I've got a Tidioute Wharncliffe barlow on the way already. With Northern Lights handle and carbon blades.

I'll be buying a new BM555HG in black, hopefully. Trading my current one (which is blue) for a Spyderco Centofante III next week. After I have the new mni-Grip, I'll probablylook into a Browning Ice Storm.

Slim, The path you have chosen is a Slippery(Get Slip joint/Slippery) Slope but it's the most satisfied I have been knife collecting since I was a kid. Post some photos of your pocket knives. We all love to see what everyones got!!! Thats half the fun to me...:D

It's a short list. I plan to buy a couple of Spyderco Ladybug 3's. 1 for my keychain and 1 for my BOB. I also plan to buy a new fixed blade for my BOB. Depending on finances, either a Fallkniven S1 or a Buck Nighthawk. After that, it will just depend on what new comes out that strikes my fancy.

Slim,

I'm taking the same turn (re-turn??) to slippies. There are some tacticals I still want but I'm getting into the Queen / S&M / custom slipjoint mode. Like the carbon steel with a little ATS-34 thrown in.

So, my plan for '09 is to try not to cut myself when the blade closes!!:D

nothing too big for me, or at least, to my knowledge....I haven't seen the new catalogs yet. My list right now has me grabbing a Kimura and a RAT RC4. If I can get a BM32 for the right price than I'll snag that up as well.

Edit: Ok, so I'm going to add Ken Onion's packrat too.

I'm gonna lay low and enjoy what I have now, at least until we see what happens to world economics. This might be the time to consider trades????

Yesterday, I bought a pair of Buck/Hartsook s30v keychain fixed blades. One for me, one for the girl. Makes it easy for her to find her keys in her purse.

I got a Super CQC7 BT from a member once my MO gets to him.

I have a DDR 4" DLC pearl Maxx and a Burn 4" swing guard on order... $200-$300 to both makers every month should make April interesting :D

I am thinking an RC-4, BM 710 and/or spydie military, and a delica. Others may/ probably will come up..............you know, a mini grip might be nice....
