LMAO! That's great!!! Been meaning to get a beret like that...

Although Murray doesn't appear completely convinced on the idea... It is the look on his face. As if he's thinking, "oh, man... I hope he doesn't post this on the internet...and why am I the only one with a RED beret. Is that code for something???"

1995 KLX 650.

I got it with 1100 miles on it.

Lots of fun. I have taken it on 12 hour rides in one day (single, unbalanced cylinder) 90/10 dirt tires makes for a hell of a lot of vibration at 80 mph (not to mention at 110).

Really fun to get off road (not as good as a normal dirt bike because it is geared a bit tall for slower trails).

It has not been ridden for 2 years. It needs a tune up badly (carb work), and I can't ride it to work (not exactly suit and tie friendly, but I used to put my suit in my back pack and ride it anyway). Plus, I have two kids now.

I have been riding it for over 6 years. It paid for it's self in the first season, just on gas money saved from my old Bronco (60 mpg vs 9 mpg on the beast). I rode it every day to school and work. I have ridden in -20 degrees!!! I don't think I am crazy enough to do that anymore! I used to ride in my full snowboard gear including goggles, and gloves (minus the huge boots of course).

I think now I want a Sportster set up to look like a dirt tracker, or off road. Just some thing about that design, the peanut tank, and knobbies with the rubber fork covers that tickles me.

I also really like the BMW GS adventure, just for the versatility and huge tank!

Used to be a Huskie then a Harley.

But broke my back in '89 in a parachute drop. It wasn't discovered until the early oughts -- whereupon it was very strongly suggested I never ride a 'cycle again. Or do anything else that might jostle my calcified lower spine "too much." [Arthritis in the lower back ain't fun.]

Reluctantly, I have complied.

Yeah, some nights I get misty-eyed.

Found this one years back in rough shape. Pulled the engine by myself and worked on it, rebuilt the entire 4 carb rack, rebuilt the clutch, installed new wheel bearings, Dyna coils\wires on and on. Rode it for 4-5 years then sold it last year. 1977 Kawasaki KZ 650 B1. It still screamed like a banshee through the MAC four into ones when sold. For all I know the guy could have wrapped it around a telephone pole.

The black one is a GS1000L custom and the red is a 2001 Triumph Legend TT 900 bobbed with stage 3.
I also have a '69 Kawasaki W2 waiting to be restored, a 1979 Amen Savior CB750 chopper and a sweet 1973 Yamaha XS650 custom bobber.
I like bikes. :D
