What's your story?

Here's a humorous story for you guys.

My brother and I went squirrel hunting some years back and he accidentally loaded some buck shot into his shotgun... Well let's just say upon seeing a squirrel and pulling the trigger he didn't brace very well and he fell hard on his ass, he got the squirrel though.. in two different pieces lol

Is there a knife involved?

Not necessarily personalities. Knife stories, any good adventures you've had or forum memories you would like to share. First impressions of the forum and any impressions you may have now. Just thought it would be a good discussion for everyone.

I'm just not following. Maybe I need another cup of coffee.

Maybe if you dont understand a thread, dont post in it over and over. Its kike you have some agenda to convince people its a bad thread. We can make our own decisions and if mods decide to move it then so be it. Youve mentioned before you dont like the OP or something like that. Maybe leave him alone then?

My story: Ive loved knives ever since i was a kid. Id carry a chef knife w me when i was by myself at home and it made me feel safer. Active childs imagination and all that. Over time i learned to view knives as the tools they are and Ive been knife nuts ever since.

Cool story. I see you understood my thread pretty easily. Knife stories are interesting and so are just any stories people might have to share in general.

I've hobby-hopped for the better part of a decade. I've not gone head-over-heals with knives in the year I've been hanging around this forum, but now have several CRKs and a Shirogorov. I've found great value in EDCing a blade, but a $10 box-cutter probably would have given me all the functionality I need. Its been interesting learning the different grips needed to open a knife. In videos it looks so easy. Understanding knife mechanics has been interesting as well. I still have not gotten into appreciating the nuanced performance differences of various super steels. I'm more into appreciating bushings, bearings, oils and greases. I tend to gravitate to quality-built things over flashy things.

Just trying to gather the information to participate in the thread.

And I do not recall ever saying anything about "not liking" the OP, or anything about him personally, for that matter.

Please don't put words in my mouth.

When I was 8 my uncle got me my 1st BB gun and a Camillus Boy Scout 3 blader, well 1 blade, a leather punch, cause we all need a punch, and a screw drive/can opener. We had a tether ball in the front yard cemented into an old tire to keep it from falling over. My brother and I were 'locked' out of the house by my sister and cousin who was baby sitting. Boredom overtook us and after smashing the tether ball around for a while I pulled out my knife and decided to stick it through the tire. Well, it didn't go as planned and as I was bearing down on the knife the blade closed right into my thumb about as deep as it could go into the pad. So I run to the back door and start pounding on it, eventually my cousin, looking pretty annoyed, peered out the window in the door and yelled 'What!'. I stuck my thumb up to the glass and she turned white as a ghost. She called my aunt who ended up taking me to Dr Fox in the next town over. He was starting to get familiar with me, even as an 8 yo I'd been sewn up a couple times by him already. Needless to say, I got to spend the rest of the day at my aunts munching cookies and drinking RC cola :p

Okay, I complied with the spirit of the thread :)

I cant quote that specific part of the forum here because forum rules, but you stated there was "something off about him". Considering you post up like crazy in his threads, it seems odd. And you are always so confused. Maybe read more post less?

Basically, that dude is a troll who has been allowed to stay here for whatever reason, I dont know. But his agenda is to try to make this thread not about knives so he can get some wierd satisfaction of enforcing forum rules despite not being a mod. Its very meaningful to him for some reason or another. Unfortunately it ruins a lot of potentially cool threads before they get a chance. The forum rule.is knife.discussion only in GKD subforum. Marcinek seems upset some stories werent knife related. However, he is NOT a mod, and they will move the thread if they decide.

Aand, more story time: once i stabbed myself in the hand because I was testing how easily a clip point could puncture a water bottle. Took more gradual pressure than i thought. But then it popped right on through, BOTH sides, into the hand holding the bottle. That was stupid of meo_O
