What's your take on the Zulu blade shape?

Beautiful knives.

Vince, how do you like a lock back vs. a slip joint? The lock backs have been calling me too.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave, I like a nice lockback, but in the end it seems I'd aways go with a slipjoint.
But the lockback version of this folder, since most, the blades are "pinch able",probably is a really good choice for someone who has difficulties with nail nicks & firm spring tensions.Since the spring action on the lockback is toned down,in compare to a slipjoint folder

Back in the 1970's an ex con gave my dad a big Buck lock back that he worked over. It was so smooth you could flick it open with your wrist and it was razor sharp. My dad gave it to me and I was probably in the 2nd or 3rd grade. (Those were the days of political incorrectness.) Well, read on if you want to know how bad of an idea that was. One day while playing on the driveway with my buddy I decided to touch up the blade on the concrete. It didn't work out too well.

Some of you may think my dad was nuts. But, check out what his dad did. My grandfather gave me a slipjoint when I was 4. I closed the damn thing on my index finger and sliced that puppy open pretty bad. I still have the scar. Nobody got mad at him. It was more or less a "teaching moment" for me.

I wish I still had those knives.

Those Dowell "Hognecks" work great! So does this Menefee
Zulu(3-5/8) it's a cutter as well.

Jason, both of those are perfect!!

I am a huge fan of the Zulu blade. It is my favorite and what usually ends up in my pocket.

What's your take on the Zulu blade shape?

A Wharncliffe blade ground to where it becomes useful.
