I'm trying to decide between my Menefee Trapper, Case Small Texas Jack, and Case Trapper. It might be one of the trappers, since I'll be making a Jewish apple cake later, and I'll need to slice up some apples.

Which knives are you folks going to be carrying and using today?

Hi Stuntdouble -

I will have my Butterbean (from Thomason) with me all day.

For the carving, I will use my JK Bowie:

And for general kitchen duties, it will be the JK Riverwoods Companion:

I'll be using this 30+ year old Case to carve the Turkey. It's never been used for anything but that for at least the last decade and wasn't used much before that:

In my pocket I'll be carrying the slip joint in my avatar.

Happy Thanksgiving to those that celebrate this holiday.

I felt "obligated" to carry my Case 2009 Thanksgiving mini Copperhead.

I dunno yet ?

I'm running late,as usual,I got a few choices, but just might go with what I carried at work this week,my Dowell Hog Neck Trapper.
I'm tempted to carry my Menefee mini Zulu in stag!

Nice knives gentlemen. VCM3, I don't think you could go wrong with either one of those.

Ultimately, I decided on the Menefee Zulu Trapper, and a Victorinox Pioneer that kind of came out of the blue. I went with the Menefee, because if not for this forum, and the people on it, I wouldn't have the opportunity to own one. I chose the Pioneer to go with it, because it is a gift from my girlfriend, and I'm very thankful to have found someone that not only puts up with my knife hobby, but she also enables it. :D

Happy Thanksgiving all!

I was feeling a bit nostalgic, so this morning I slipped my old Buck stockman in my pocket. I bought it 43 years ago, it was in my pocket when I met my wife to be on a shooting range in San Antonio Texas, it was there in my pocket when tow of my three children were born, and it's traveled many a mile with me. It's a bit used, but still has life in it. Since there will be 4 generations around the table this afternoon, it seemed fitting to have a very old friend in my pocket.

Carl.

Dan Burke Small Barlow. Already used to open some Lil' Smokies. I am thinking that my fixed blade will be a Fiddleback Nessmuk or maybe a small Busse of some sort.

I'll be carrying my stag Case Swayback jack with Thomas Damascus blades in my watch pocket (I have a watch pocket on my chinos, business casual for our Thanksgiving), my amber bone CV 63032 stockman in my righthand pocket with a Leatherman micra as company. I will be using my new Victorinox 12" slicer and fork to carve the roast beasts (Turkey and Ham), in my hand it feels like a small sword but it sure cuts through the meat.

Zulu spear in back pocket.

I'm going to be using a Rick Menefee carving knife that I gave my mom this past summer (thanks for the hook up on that one Vince) on the smoked prime rib and turkey.

Happy Thanksgiving folksy folk.

I work today so it will be my Case Old Red Pocket Worn stockman, BUCK DW 301 and Uncle Henry 885 to get me through the day. Happy Thanksgiving Day to all.
Bob

I forgot to mention, there is a knife I will be fondling and rubbing down with some peanut oil today also. That would be my avatar knife, that elephant ivory likes to be babied in this desert climate.

Hi,

I'm on call today so I need something smaller and a bit more discrete. So I've grabbed my Schrade 272. I do wish I owned a nice carving set, I'm going to have to find one I guess.

Just back in from a nice morning hike with my dog Riley. As always I had a sak with me and keeping it company today a 32 year old Case 6275 Moose with brown bone scales.

My wife set the uniform of the day, Dress Casual. When I came downstairs in jeans and sweater she reminded my of her edict. I proceeded to pull my Bose Trapper out of my pocket and explained, Ivory for Dress and Trapper for Casual. Then back upstairs I went.

I'll be carrying this Buck 532 LE today in it's pocket sleeve to keep the keys and coins from getting to it.

I'll be carrying this Case honey-bone mini trapper and as always my Case/Tony Bose Saddlehorn.
Happy Thanksgiving.

In case I need to do some big cuttin', I'll have my Queen stag Mountain Man in the back pocket (top knife in the picture):

(Was going to have my Sebenza in the back pocket, but reading this topic got me all traditional feeling so I switched it out for the Queen.) Happy Thanksgiving to all!

In my pocket is a GEC Toothpick.

Performing carving duties today will be the carving set my Grandfather used 100 years ago.
