I was just thinking about the same topic. I've started collecting quite a few slipjoints over the last 6 months. Of all of them there are a few that I have been drawn to.
1) Case/Bose Tribal Spear - Chestnut Bone
2) Gene Wiseman Ultra-light front pocket
3) Case Swayback CV

The problem is keeping the list only down to three. I have a few more that I'll slip into my pocket depending on the mood.

i know the feeling, my favorite is that yella medium stockman, but the other two get filled in by others on a regular basis, but today those 3 are my favorites.

thanks
sam

My favorites are:
1.) Case full size stag trapper in cv
2.) Case T.B. sowbelly stockman
3.) Queen cattle king stockman in birdseye maple

With all the beautiful knives I've seen on this forum, this should be an interesting thread.

This is a tough one but here are my favorites among the knives in my ever growing humble collection:

I suppose it's no secret that the Railsplitter is my all time favorite pattern and this Antique Green Bone Railsplitter is a favorite of mine

Next up is my "Gum Fuddy" Case Humpback Stockman. My constant companion.

My third pick is this GEC Elk Horn Muskrat just because it's so doggone pretty.

Just 3?
Lately it would have to be, in order of time in the pocket:

1. Queen Mini Trapper

2. Case Small Texas Jack

3. Brett Dowell Dogleg

Railsplitter: What a beautiful muskrat.

Flymon: Queen mini trapper is one I've got to get after seeing yours.

Ah!!! A very difficult question to answer and I will answer with my current three favorite patterns (which is subject to change at any moment). These three patterns have to be my current favorites starting with my most often carried slipjoint, the Case wharncliffe mini copperhead:

Next has to be a canoe pattern; my avatar Mutz canoe gets carried quite a bit since the Bulldog stag canoe has moved on to a new owner:

and next, there is a 12 way tie for third, but I really like these two patterns and these were both gifted to me by forum members. Sweet knives...

Really, there are lots of knives that can be in the "top three" at any given time, but I think currently these four (see can't limit it to three) are most likely to be in my pocket, but not all at the same time. I'm sure you can see somewhat of a trend in my group as far as size.

I'm interested in this thread. I wonder if it will become like the What traditional are you toting.." thread with folks reposting when their selections change?

railsplitter, i love the gum fuddy humpback stockman, i've recently started a search for the rough black scaled cases, i have the canoe already and it keeps finding it's way into my left pocket to go for a ride.

tlarbb, that wharncliffe mini copperhead is beautiful.

i love the pictures you guys, i never tire of looking at photos of amazing knives.

thanks

Sam, it's not the most perfect fabrication I've seen in a Case knife and I'm sure they would fix it (gap between liner and spring), but I can't bring myself to do without it to send it to them. The knife is fine without any blade play and has good snap. I can't see the gap in the liner when I'm using it. It has to be my current favorite, warts, freckles and all. It's been the most surprising pattern I've ever used.

That wharncliffe mini trapper is a great knife in its own rite. I'm going to buy one of them for a friend (he doesn't know it).

Even though the fit and finish were horrible on my Queen Dan Burke small and large Barlows, they would have to be my favorites followed by the Case/Tony Bose swayback jack which was flawless.

My favorite knife is a Case 6375 CV. I have a yellow Case trapper that I use a lot and I like the 6318 with the Turkish clip blade as well.

Well, I don't really want to mention a specific brand since I really haven't bought that many slipjoints outside Case and Schrade, but my favorite patterns are as so...

Trapper
Stockman
Texas Toothpick

Currently I'd say

Queen Cutlery Teardrop linerlock

CASE Swayback Barehead (cv or ss)

GEC No.73 Single blade

But, I'm such a knife-tart that everytime I glance into drawers something else begs to be used:D Slimline Trapper or Böker's Whittler are always like sirens.

Might be controversial to start a thread the 3 Trads you dislike most:D That ought to stir up things:D:eek::D

1. Queen Dan Burke small Barlow
2. Queen Honey bone Canoe
3. GEC Bloodred Jigged Bone 4 blade Congress
