Whats your weight limit?

ntnfancy also thinks his knives are weapons... IMO I'd use a gun, not a knife...
Those knives are the ones that people would classify as a defensive knife, if you're in other countries like maybe Europe or Australia, there's no CCW's where you are, if you defend yourself in the public with your gun on you, even if you live, you'll be heavy charged and/or imprisoned.

When I go out, I don't have a weight limit, but the heaviest knife I own is a byrd cara cara which is 5.6ounces, I have no problem with it in my pocket or on my waistband, in gym shorts, I would carry it IWB. At home my weight limit atm is 4ounces because I wear short shorts with the waist band pretty loose and heavy knives pull my pants down(I carry IWB).

I think the weight of my M-43 kukri is around 27 oz plus the sheath. I EDC'd that for a couple years. Now I usually carry either a Benchmade 740 Dejavoo (if I'm feelin civilized) which weighs in at around 3 oz. I have another knife on the way that will be a bit heavier. I carry what conditions call for and weight is not my greatest concern.

4 ounce limit, pffft, people watch nutnfancy too much.

Well, I agree with this philosophy though. I mean, it doesn´t matter if, for you personally, it´s 3, 4 or 6 ounces, but there´s always a point where the weight becomes a factor. At some point, with my wallet, mobile phone, car keys, home keys, lighter, cigarettes, loose change and a flashlight on me at all times, I DO care about weight.

If the knife is uncomfortable for me to carry all day long, then I´ll end up putting a different one in my pocket, no matter how much I like it. It just so happens that I agree with Nutnfancys 4 ounces or thereabouts. Any more and it usually stays at home.

I always consider the weight along with the other specs of a knife. Though I've never put a cap on it per se, I would say that the Lg Seb (reg = 4.5oz) is as heavy as I would want to carry. I would not say that it is too heavy, but it is enough.. When I consider my newest EDC, a Spyderco Military, which dwarfs a Lg Seb, coming in at 4.2oz, I see what design is all about. We are at the (thus far) pinnacle of knifemaking. There is no reason (other than unreasonable cost & YMMV) to settle for something other than what you desire out of your product.

This surely is a "to each his own" issue... But, to the fellas who enjoy a BIG knife, you owe it to yourself to try out a Spyderco Military. I KNOW you'll love the size, and the weight will blow you away! ..@ $120, I would consider it the best value for what you get out of an "ultimate" working knife.

I have never put a limit on that kind of thing. I carry a fairly large fixed blade daily, along with a full-size pistol (Browning HiPower, .40), and two extra mags, and a couple more folders (Kershaws), so take that for what it's worth.

I agree with just about everything that you said, and the military is a great size knife for the weight and it takes up zero pocket space. I recently carried a zt 0301 because I had wanted one and ut was my new toy, but now that I have my sebenza 21 I realized how much pocket space it did take up. So since I was able to carry it for a week without notice, the 0301 is my upper limit :o
