Maybe It's just be but I never really understood the fascination with machetes. I just don't think they do anything exceptionally well unless you count chopping light vegetation in your way. They aren't thick enough or heavy enough to chop that effectively, they usually don't have much of a point for stabbing ,and they are usually not designed or sharp enough for slashing. I just don't think they would work all that great as a weapon.I mean it doesn't do anything exceptionally well.
You need to improve your machete knowledge. There is more than one style. They come in different thicknesses. They can be sharpened. Some come sharp. Some have points.
Knowledge is your friend.
Yes I know there are different types but I'm speaking of the type of style that is used most often. I know that coldsteel has machete katanas, spear points, etc.

Tbh dude I think machetes are used to kill more people in third world countries than ak 47s. There is a movie called machete. It is a lethal limb hacking tool.
MS-13 would disagree, as would the thousands and thousands of men/woman and third world countries without arms/hands in Africa.
Check out Condor Tool and Knife if you haven't already. Heads above Cold Steel stuff, and all the variety a person could want.

My machete is just an el-cheapo no name thing I picked up at a local hardware store. I bought it because some fool who used to own my house planted a bunch of bamboo out back. Bamboo looks cool and all, but damn! It grows/spreads like wildfire! My machete is an indispensable tool used to keep it at bay. In my opinion, it is exactly the right tool for the job. Like you said, it excels at chopping down light vegetation.![]()
