Actually, I find these knives very attractive; the lines are graceful and uncluttered, and I'm a big fan of how wood scales look.

Take heart, L6! There must be someone else out there who is not as broke as I am from other knife orders!

Wow. Mike, that bocote handle looks absolutely gorgeous. Have not seen many makers use them though. Wish they would. Very nice work on the knives and reasonable prices too. If I'm after a fixed blade hunter in the future, I'll keep you in mind.

Hey Mikey, I like your knives

The 2 that I have so far are outstanding, and as soon as that little wharncliffe is here, I have no doubt it will be everything I expect it will be.

Mike, nothing could be further from the truth, the timing is just bad. NYCKS, and I just ordered my first custom linerlock.

I'm going to teach you a word in Italian, I've got a feeling there's a lot of this going around right now.

Don't take it personal and don't lose heart, just keep doing what you do best....Make Knives. I think over the next couple of months you're going to have more work than you can handle.

PS, great pics Rich.

Mike,

When you said above that you may have needed a "pat on the back", I was reminded of something that I read on Don Fogg's website....

CLICK HERE Then scroll down to "Chopping Charcoal" and read those two paragraphs.... Don is a unique individual! I love his site!!!

Thats from the "Chopping Charcol" story on Don's web site. Thanks Gene!!
I do enjoy making knives very much, but am overly critical of myself and my work and I guess I look too much to others for approval. Maybe someday this will change.

You've got nothing to worry about Mike. You do great work. All you need to do is build yourself one of those back patting devices and you'll be all set!

Great knives Mike! Thanks for sharing the pics. If I didn't have knives on order from Winkler, Herman, Tomes, and Lovestrand, I would snatch one of those from you. I really like the bocote handles.

Where is the balance point on these knives? I notice that the tang is not tapered. Are they a little handle heavy (not a bad thing in small knives)?

Why are they 440C and not L6?! You gonna have to change your name to 440Csteel!

I saw them... liked (well, LIKE) the looks of them, but suffering from mafunzalo as well.

Para, the balance point on mine is about 1" behind the first handle pin, maybe a tad less. I dunno if this would vary from knife to knife due to different handle material.

Nice, aint it?
