You guys up for the mother of all fighting Bowie Projects :)

Many of you remember the very successful Fighter project Nick and I did

This is a similar knife but only on Steroids & Growth Hormone :)

I have long quested for the ultimate Fighting Bowie and I have been gifted to call some of the best makers in the world my friends

Long hours of discussion and testing have lead us down the road to radical Distal Taper , points that lend themselves to brutal back cuts and sweeping bellies that slash like a sickle

This piece has the best of everything I could ask for in every conceivable option

A contoured black G 10 handle like only Nick and a few others can do, a stainless slimmed down guard for the right amount of protection with out over kill.

This is a performance driven piece bar none and all I can say is that its gonna do it all.

There is a reason you do not see these project knives up on the chopping block often and that is because they are hard to let go of :)

This piece will chop like a cleaver , pierce like a dagger and back cut with the best of them

Combined with Nicks attention to detail and wicked heat treat this blade will surly go down as one of the best interpretations of a Fighting Bowie ever made

The steel will be 52100

If your looking for a fancy paper weight please do not apply

If your looking for an all out performance Fighting Bowie this piece will ring your bell hard

There will only be 12 of these made plus the Proto

The plan is to get the Proto to me for a video introduction and than off to the great Paul Long for leather than it will be on display at the Arkansas show with Nick and Paul

With out further a due

It looks like a blade for the devils ice skates :)

A blade designed for nothing but all out performance

Man, that's going to be amazing with you at the wheel and Nick doing all the work in the forge! ;)

Can hardly wait to see the vids of you and Nick slicing and dicing..... :D

As usual an awesome design Joe and the makers not too bad:)
Looking forward to a full pictorial progress thread like Nick did for the last collaboration.... Hopefully.

I am very excited to be able to do these projects with makers that are at the top of their game

It's an honor yo get works like this out to my fellow blade nuts :)

I feel in time these projects will always be desired and become blades quested after by true high performance aficionados

David I do not know if Nick will have as much time to do a detailed work in progress but I'm sure I can get some pics out of him :)

Sweet! All G10 handles or will there be any wood options like last time?

I like the design and dimensions very much. Wicked. Hanging out to see the prototype all done. Nicks the man!
Cheers Keith

nice,
the grind lines on the picture looks better than the drawing ,
just a little flat on the top spine , compared to the full grind on the drawing
but that is my humble opinion
one to follow

Looking forward to see the proto!! :)
Thanks for sharing and all the work you guys put into this project

Joe, this one is everything I like in a bowie! Will definitely be keeping up with this project. Stay warm over in PA!

Thanks guys.... many thanks to my brotha' Joe. :)

The drawing looks a little wonky because I went back over my pencil sketch with a fine point marker, and the marker bled A LOT. The lines will actually be smooth! ;)

If you happen to be at or near the top of my order list and are seeing this thinking, "WTF Wheeler???" I just wanna say that I am trying to keep you guys where you're at in line, AND get a jump start on this. :)

Without going into any detail here--- My life has been turned upside down lately, and I truly need the shot in the arm that hunkering down into this project will provide... the focus, motivation, encouragement, and financial support... ALL of it.

Joe is a good man and my friend, and I am honored to be working with him on something bad-ass again.

***edited to add*** For what it's worth.... that pic of the blade in my hand is as forged, with about 1/16" buzzed off the profile with the grinder. It started off as 1-3/4" round stock from Ms Ray Kirk. The way the blade sits in that photo, it is 3/8" thick at the ricasso, about 0.060 at the edge, with the distal taper and clip all hammered in. :)

Look forward to seeing it at Little Rock...oh yeah, and you too;)

Joe you are truly a mover and shaker. It is a true service that you do.

Nick probably needless to say but I will anyway, you are one of my favorite makers.

I do enjoy seeing these project threads of yours, Joe, especially considering the makers you "partner" with on the business side of it. Looking forward to Nick's proto, as are so many others here.

Thanks Bob and thank you to everyone

These projects are so fun and just an incredible way to get pieces that would never exist into the hands of the metal monsters :)

The overwhelming interest in these projects truly humbles me and I can't thank you all enough
