When and how did you cut yourself with your Emerson

Last night after stropping my CQC14 and wiping the blade with a cloth right through the cloth into the thumb. For those who think an Emerson chisel blade can not get sharp you can talk to my thumb LOL!

About two years ago a Horseman bit me bad. Needed 6 stitches. I have some pics floating around, I'll post pics when I get a chance.

I've given them their due respect, so nothing bad so far... but just the occasional accidental bump of the blade into a finger--but those still drew a drop or two of blood.

Never happened to me, but the main drawback with Emersons is forgetting about the wave and trying to just pull the knife out of the pocket without deploying the blade.

Ive read countless posts describing some nasty cuts.

Personally, i learned very quickly to be aware of the wave when drawing the knife.

I got my cut when I opened up the box to my new CQC-13. Was all giddy with excitement, first time handling it then opened it and it gave a little scratch across my index finger. Did not notice it until I was later eating some French fries and got some salt in the wound lol.

This. Haven't cut myself yet but the aggressive wave hook of my super roadhouse has come close especially when pulling the knife in the seated position. My couch has a few scars.

I carried my CQC-15 as an EDC when I was landscaping. One day, the blade worked its way open in my back pocket, and the tip poked through the canvas pants, on the outside luckily. I went to reach for the knife and nicked my finger as it slid against the outside of my pocket. I tightened up the pivot after that one...

Wiping the blade after sharpening has gotten me at least once.

I also have various couches and chairs with some scars. But better them than me.

Scar on the index finger...

I got bit pretty good by my roadhouse while 'believe it or not' playing rough with it one to many times in a row. :foot: Superglue had me quickly back in action though.

Been fortunate enough to only have had minor cuts. It's always while closing the knife when playing with it or breaking it in watching a movie.

About 3 months ago, I had just got my combat karambit back from Sketchen, was playing with it at work deploying it from my front pocket. I wasn't paying attention, pulled it, thinking it was locked going in to grip it only to close the blade on my middle finger joint between the distal and middle phalanx. Cut was decently deep but luckily no tendons were hit nor stitches needed. I suppose then the karambit truly became mine

Just got my first CQC7 today. Though couple nights ago i cut my pointer finger tip bad with a brand new CQC7k. It bled pretty bad. Cutting boxes and i curled my finger just a little bit too close. Knife went through like melted butter.

Was worried i was gonna need stiches. Liquid skin bandage saved the day.

I got myself the other day with my CQC-7BW. Was sitting in my car and went to pull it out of my pocket because the local V.A. has this dumb policy about not letting vets carry any kind of protection. I didn't realize that the Wave had partially opened the blade and the upswept angle of the tanto got me pretty good underneath the front edge of the fingernail on my middle finger. Guess I got it pertty dang sharp on my SpyderCo Sharpmaker, cause I just barley tuched the blade it felt like. It will shave, on both angles of the tanto edge!

I've had quite a few cuts but the only one that was really bad. My 7V was really stiff when I first got it so I was opening and closing it a lot to smooth it out. I didn't get my thumb out of the way fast enough when unlocking it and it took the tip of my thumb. It bled a lot but I packed it with clotting powder and wrapped it up. The good news is my thumb grew back and the knife is nice and smooth now.

About 2 weeks ago, I received a Tiger from Ray. I was wiping down the blade after opening and closing it for a while, I was wiping it down with a micro fiber cloth. I had my thumb against the side of the blade and wiped towards the tip. The blade went right through the cloth and into the tip of my thumb. The Tiger bit me and now it owns me!

My CQC-14 got me again. Cut envelope open and placing the 14 in my pocket without looking half closed with finger between blade and frame. Razor sharp and lots of blood. Band aid time. Who says a chisel edge can not be sharpened? Mine is sharper than a razor ouch!!!! 154 to me is Great Blade Steel I really hope this Steel stays on Emerson's for a Long,Long time are you listening Ernest?

The first time I cut myself was with my super roadhouse and I was just wiping the blade and oiling it after use and don't realize I cut myself until I saw blood on the rag. It had cut my pointer on the inside of the hand. So worth it and a testament to the sharpness of the blade
