When and how did you cut yourself with your Emerson

These accidents involving cuts, were I am sure were all preventable. Emerson’s come out of the factory very sharp. Honestly I think Emerson's are the sharpest brand of knife out of the factory I ever purchased.

If you do not respect your knife it will cut you bad. Flow safety rules you learned in the boy scouts for knife use. Those rule learned at 8 years old as a cub scout are still valid today. Those rules were designed to prevent accidents.

Now be safe. How many were scouts?

CQC7B no wave. I closed it on my thumb trying to close it one handed. The serrations cut me nice and deep. Lesson learned.

You're right, they're preventable, and you're right Emersons are the sharpest from the factory, in my experience they are the sharpest; even then I cut myself with a super commander when I was cleaning it; the edge went right through the rag I was using and I sliced my finger, not bad but I had to use a bandaid to stop the bleeding, the rag was folded in twice and I was holding it by the sides of the blade!
I was a scout around 50 years ago; in another country by the way, that was a ton of fun, and I learned a lot about living in the wilderness and handling knives; every kid should be a scout, I think.

Glad I'm not the only one. While I am not a big fan of chisel edges, those suckers do cut. I keep an Emerson/Kershaw CQC-8K in the door pocket of the truck for emergencies, and a massive Ivan Campos American Standard Tanto on my desk for show: that ¼” thick slab of unbelievably sharp D3 can chop through a 2x4 and then shave a peach.

I think it is funny that people comment on how sharpe Emerson are out of the factory. That is the way knive should be sharp out of the factory.

My most recent cut that was a good cut was from a broken bottle I was using as a wood scraper to fashion a walking stick out of Diamond Willow. Yes I cue myself deep, clean, it bled. I dress the cut with a band aid and went back to work.

Was the accident preventable maybe. As it is really a hard task to work with pieces of broken glass as a scraper. No good handle or grip to grasp.

Which time?

That damn original combat karambit (before the circumcision) is just a nasty, mean ol thing. I'm more afraid of it than any knife I own. Period. Touch it, your hooked and cut.

Well...then there's the Persian.....

Last night after stropping my CQC14 and wiping the blade with a cloth right through the cloth into the thumb. For those who think an Emerson chisel blade can not get sharp you can talk to my thumb LOL!

I think the chisel edge makes for a noticeably sharper blade, because the edge is thinner.

I got bitten for just admiring her sheer Beauty.
It was a quick nip, from the tip point of my new CQC-7B serrated, which caused a 1" gash on top of my hand.
Just the thought of having it accidently dropped onto ones bare foot, one would not like to imagine
