When are the 2011 Condor designs coming out?

FortyTwoBlades,

Since you are a Condor dealer, I have a question. I've read where you state you personally will check each item for defects before shipping, that's great, an additional QC step, so my question is; since I live in FL., will, would or can you even drop ship if customer requested?
Since Condor's HQ are in Central Fl., I just find shipping an item 2500 miles (round trip) instead of 400 miles wasteful.

That would kind of eliminate the ability to do the additional QC check, now wouldn't it? :p

Not that it's a possibility anyhow--the product ships to me directly from El Salvador, not from Florida. That's just where their stateside offices are. The REAL Condor headquarters are at Imacasa in El Salvador. :o

Yeah, so much for QC step.:foot::D

I see, I thought their Florida offices were their main warehouse distributors.

Still looking forward to these nice offerings coming out for 2011.

To answer the original question I've taken a look at the calendar and if things are going according to schedule then 2011 items should be ready to ship out from El Salvador sometime between March 23 and April 13. I've sent off an email to see if that projection is still accurate.

The original production date should be some where in Mid-April for some of the new stuff. The new Bushlore may be a little bit longer, as they are having some handle shrinkage problems that they are re-working.

Depending on if you get stock from Blue Ridge Knives, Moteng, or any of the other distributors, sometimes they go through them, as well rather than coming straight from El Salvador

I'm not sure the eye roll was necessary...I was basing the estimate on what Rick at Condor told me. I can't speak for Blue Ridge, but I can say from thorough experience that Moteng does NOT check their stock. When I worked at a local shop that ordered an awful lot of Condor items over the course of the season we received pieces with incorrect sheaths, bubbled blade coatings, burn marks on the handles from sanding, and proud rivets/handle gaps. These weren't the norm, but it happened with enough frequency that it was obvious that they didn't get checked by a part inside the 'states.

Not trying to be a know-it-all, man...just trying to share what I've been told. I'm not making this stuff up. :(

I don't see the Fidelis or any of the neck knives on your site. Are you going to carry them?

I will be--they just aren't on this first order. I plan on getting the majority of the models in on the next order, along with a few of the older classic models. I also have some unique stuff in the works. :)

Great, Thank for the response. Are you going to carry other brands? Not to drive this thread from condor but Svord has some nice knives I would to see here in the U.S.

I will, indeed, be carrying other brands. I just have to start things out small. My aim is to focus on products that perform outside of their price point, so I'll be adding Svord, Mora, Opinel...as well as more expensive, but still high-value lines like ESEE and Becker. It'll just happen gradually, especially with the funds I have tied up in my...special projects at the moment. I've got five different pots boiling on a four burner stove right now! :D

Also, while I might have stuff priced a couple of bucks higher than the big guys like KnifeCenter (who are great folks!) I plan on personally inspecting every piece before shipment. Orders will ship with a signed inspection slip indicating such. Even the best companies have the occasional lemon slip through (see the recent Buck Vantage thread, etc) and I figure it doesn't hurt to be extra cautious! ;)

Haha thanks. I'm pretty excited about this shipment, as I've been a huge fan of the company for years now. It should be coming in any day now. :)
