When did kershaw switch blade steel in the blur?

A year and a half ago or so I had a kershaw blur bought for me. If i recall, it had grip tape on the scales and a 440A blade. When i found this out, and wondering how long the grip tape would last, i returned it and got a Victorinox Swisstool. Couldn't be happier. While at my local knife store, i went over to the knife counter to show my g/f some knives because all she's seen is my knife collection, none others. I pointed out the blur and told her i wish i had kept it but told her why i didn't like it and then noticed something. The grip tape was gone. It was rubbery. I went home and looked on the website and also noticed the steel changed?! I told her when i got enough money i was going to get another. About 3 months later my birthday comes around and guess what. She somehow didn't tune me out and remembered i wanted it lol. Needless to say it's in my collection now and i feel complete again. So when did they change the inserts and the blade steel? Mine's dated January 2008.

Many people complained that the sand paper like inserts were to abrasive on their hands. As far as the steel your going to see significant increases in edge holding with the 13c26 over 440a. I don’t pretend to be an expert on steels but from my own use I’ve found the 13c26 to sharpen to a very fine edge and hold it quite nicely.

They have had several sprint runs of Blurs with S90V and I believe a few other steels. These are hard to find nowadays so if you do get the chance for one, I'd snag it.

I'm sure one of the Kershawaholics will be by shortly to better answer your question :D

lol you wish.

No S90V runs. Only sprint runs were SG-2, S60V, and a black bladed S30V IIRC.
