When did production of the 500 Duke stop?

I need to post mine. I bought it when I was about 16...so around 1978 or 9. It has the maroon micarta type scales. Not sure what blade steel it would have. I carried it until I left for basic training and it has sat in the box since. Have a few fixed blades from that time also that I haven't used.

Ed the steel in that 500 at that time was 440 C. Buck did not go to 425 until the 4 dot 110 came out, which depinding on which chart or who you talk to was either 1981, or 1982. HL

Ed, You could have a early Duke, as thats when Buck brought out the 500. Then I agree w/ I4Bucks on the steel chart. DM
