I can't remember if there is a finger I have not cut, Nope.

After you cut yourself enough times, its just routine. Clean the cut get the band-aids and hope the bleeding stops.

Just another day.

Have to love those knives. Keep on keeping on.

It's butterknives for you till you learn how to use a knife.

If it hurts WHEN you cut yourself, your blade is NOT sharp enough! It should only hurt a little while after the cut.

Reminds me of the old joke...

Patient: Doctor! Doctor, it hurts when I do this...

Doctor: Don't do that.

Be careful, you only get so many fingers

Ebbtide out.

Before February, both my thumbs were the same length. Now, they are not. In fact, one is noticeably shorter. It is now a little flatter too. Slowly by slowly though, my right thumb is catching up in length. All of my fingers have been cut badly before (deep cuts requiring a lot of band aids and more than a week to have skin grow over the cuts).

David, You could scare vampire gerbil away with that puppy. Ha... Ha... Man I know how to manipulate blades but I'd second guess that one. Jeff

If you play with fire, you're going to get burned... And if you play with knives, you're going to get cut. (Although, I guess if your knife is on fire, then you could get burned and cut simultaneously.)

Butterfly bandaids I believe are the solution here.
The person who keeps his blade in the cabinet will never get cut, but then again he will never learn to cut.

Does everyone who uses and collects knives get cut? Is it like riding a mountain bike - you have to fall (and hurt) some to participate in the sport? I'd be interested in what percentage of forumites have cut themselves with their own knives.

No $hit! Of course it's going to hurt....

I've only inflicted 3 minor cuts to myself, but that was enough experience to LEARN from

Now I'm very cautious.

I cut my ANKLE learning to open a Balisong. Sure, I know how now, so much for 'old guys' and new tricks!--OKG

man OKG, most people try with thier hands . that's dexterity! are you gonna put out any videos of your foot-opening technique? put me down for one

russ aka bladezealot. a cat almost always blinks when hit in the head with a ball-peen hammer.

Very funny, Russ. I knew I was going to take heat for just trying to be honest! I was sitting on a couch, knees splayed. My wife, a leftie, asked if such a knife could be opened left handed. I replied, yes, put the Balisong in my left hand, and deftly flipped it. Since the blade had just been sharpened and polished on an Edge-Pro, I did not even feel the tip brush my leg--but we have white rugs...--OKG

Oh, and cerulean... a knife on fire would cut but immediately cauterize. Much cleaner, but still painful.

Hey, now that's an idea. I cut my knuckle with my butterfly knife yesterday, and now I'm having trouble with manipulations because I don't want to break open the cut. But if my blade was on fire...
