When I cut my finger it hurts.

I'm with Glockman... ya keep 'em sharp enough, it doesn't hurt as much. Also, the MD who stitches you up will appreciate the nice clean cut; makes it easier to match the edges up.

Luckily, I've managed to keep all my knife injuries under the "minor damage" category. I agree that if the cut hurts immediately, the knife wasn't sharp enough...about ten minutes later, when sweat gets into the cut-- that's when it hurts!

It hurts when they put those strange liquids on your finger to disinfect.

The knife was sharp I was using my New Microtech LCC for the first time and looked away. Luckily I hade some bandages made to act like stitches (I don't know what they are called they have nylon layed between sections of tape). I checked it out today and it look ok so far. still hurt like hell. I give it a week or so.

So the story goes like this I'm whittling away on a pice of wood to make a walking stick and I see something out of the corner of my eye. I look away to envisiom a very scantly dressed women going for her after noon run and that is when it happened. She began her run and I began to bleed.

Simple but stupid.

As a side note the knife works great and very sharp.

I know; I closed my Spyderco Matriarch on top of my finger yesterday.

I whittle with my knives, chains, ball in cage and so on. Cuts are inevitable, it's a question of if stiches are necessary. After a while you get used to it and are only inconvienced by the cuts, the pain is secondary to finishing the carving. Playing with knives equals cuts, no doubt about it in my mind.

Man...I get cut with everything ELSE but the knives I collect. Paper, scissors, BBQ tongs....don't ask me how I get cut I just start bleeding... Only cut myself once on a SOG.

I just cut the hell out of my thumb this morning as I was cord wrapping my MDP Stiff Kiss. Just pulling that last wrap tight when I yanked it out of the sheath and right across the pad of my thumb. Wow!!! Watch that CRKT Sheath it can get you. I am guessing about 1/8" deep, just enough to really bleed good.

Well to quote my boss Devin Thomas

"Everyone here gets cut and everyone gets burned. Thats the nature of making knives and Damasucs"

Ive found super glue handles closeing up of most cuts. But I still had to get stitches Tuesday.

The last time that I cut my finger it was to the bone. my knife as always was very sharp and I was cutting the heal off a boot and the knife went through it like butter and my finger as well. I was on the reservation visiting my son and my insurance didn't cover me out of state. so I wraped my finger with gauze then with tape and had to splint the finger so it wouldn't bend and split it open again. It took three weeks for the finger to heal enough so I wouldn't have to bandage it any more. by the way I broke the rule of cutting toward myself, every time you break the rules you take the chance of cutting yourself.

In my enite life, I've only cut my self maybe 5 times...the latest injury being a year or so ago...guess I'm just really careful...
