I am starting my knife making education by doing some restoration on old Case and Schrade folders. I just acquired some new old USA Schrade knife blade blanks that I want to cut down and use to replace broken or damaged factory blades. My question is regarding the tempering of these blades, and at what point in the blade production process tempering was done. My hope is that it was already done when they stamped the tang. Any help appreciated.
