When is the last time your knife bit you?

Mine was last night. I have a habit of pushing the plunge lock button and folding the knife on my upper right leg to close it. Wasn't paying attention and my Protech kissed me :)
I will try to post a pic. For some reason not letting me.

Other than the odd nick, it's ALWAYS kitchen knives with me, and never when I'm cutting with them but rather just doing things around the kitchen. The last one that sent me to the ER for stitches was when I was washing a knife and distracted by other things going on around me when the knife slipped and got me good. I tried to mend it myself to no avail. The ER doctor took notice of what he called my "pocket scalpel" as well  .

Hmm, a few months ago not paying attention I gave myself a scratch with my Launch 8 but it didn't even bleed.

A year ago I nicked myself the day I got my para 3 spy27 last summer.

I'm prone to other injuries.

Been awhile for anything beyond a scratch .

Had just got this SpyderHawk . Was trying to cinch down a zip tie for a wave mod .

Slipped onto the serrations just a little and got cut right through the nail and finger tip to the bone .

Had to apply a pressure bandage to stop bleeding .

I guess she didn't like the zip ties .

About a week ago. I was playing around with a newly acquired 4 Max Scout and wasn’t paying full attention while closing it. I’ll be using 2 hands to close that beast from now on.

Might have been the last time I was pretending that I knew what to do with a butterfly knife.

Every knife that I own has caught me at least once, though never to the point of stitches; it just comes with the territory I think. The last one was last week when I got a few new knives in the mail. One was a CRKT Septimo which I was flipping to try to smooth out the action when I slipped off the flipper and it spun onto my wrist. Barely bled at all thankfully.

I am always cutting myself by accident. It just happens sometimes, and usually nothing major.

The last bad one was when I was using a ZT to trim a throttle tube for a dirt bike. I was pulling towards my body with some effort. The tube fell apart and the knife slipped into my stomach right below my left ribcage.

That one was a gusher. Stupid on my part.

I got bit pretty good using my wicked edge for the first time two weeks ago. I turned an old dull crappy kitchen knife into something that did this.

This mistake was completely on me and it’s one that won’t be repeated. I consider myself lucky as it healed in about a week.
Decided adding a photo would spice up the story a bit . 😄

These hawkbill serrateds are crazy sharp!

I have the matriarch 2 and I cut my index finger pretty good trying to disengage and close the knife one handed

It's probably been a good 7-8 years since I cut myself.

In 34 years of carrying a knife, I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've cut myself.

Of course I just cursed myself now....

So you want me to jinx myself by saying “it’s been so long I can’t remember” so it’ll happen today, no thank you kind sir.

Last night...
I was reaching into my safe to retrieve an automatic (I store them opened-up), and one of it's playmates took a bite out of the top of my middle finger.

It's happened so many times I don't keep track anymore unless it's bad enough to go to the emergency room for sutures.
