When not to carry?

I'm with most here, I carry a folder everyday, everywhere except court or the airport. Even then, I'll take my knife, but leave it in the car. I once went on a school field trip with my daughter who was about 10 at the time. While on the bus, my daughter overheard one of the teachers say that she wished she had a knife, she needed to cut something. My knife was volunteered and the teacher was grateful. Twice more on that day, my knife was borrowed. No questions were even asked about me carrying one.

Buckcustom, you're lucky you weren't turned in for having a weapon on "school property." People are hysterical idiots these days. They are so stupid that they take an absolutist view of everything; they are incapable of drawing a distinction between an honest citizen carrying a useful blade and a terrorist holding one to the throat of an airline pilot. They'll insinuate how easily the former could become the latter (disingenuously).

I am growing less and less likely to bare my blade(s) to help people around me when they need one. For one thing, they ought to have one of their own (if they were smart), and for another thing, I can never know who will be a hysterical idiot and overreact to a 50/50 Spyderco Delica's "menace," causing me problems.

i carry a blade of some sort everywhere i go... except when i go to a club because you do get searched there
as for work, school, gym, out... i probably would. i've never been to a jailhouse or courtroom before so i've never had that problem. i've had it happen to me once where i was in a rush and actually forgot to pack a blade, i had all those symptoms... cold sweat, uncontrollable flactuance... :D
so now i have a knife on my keys and a knife in my wallet so that will NEVER happen again... it just feels too weird not carryone one *shudder*

ALWAYS packing

Like everyone else I have a knife on me unless it is absolutely forbidden. The main places are prisons and mental hospitals where i have to account for everything I carry in for a service call. Most times I try to have a knife that does not appear too threatening when I have to use it in public. Some people get spooked when you whip out the tactical folder.

I am currently on an extended vacation thanks to Mr. Bin-Laden to Okinawa where it is illegal to carry a knife with a blade over 2.5 inches in town. Both my stockman and trapper are longer than that:confused:
