When orders don't arrive... as ordered.

I placed a large order (for me) of almost three hundred dollars at one online store. When it arrived, one knife was missing, so I sent an email letting them know and hoping they send item. Then upon opening boxes, one only contained a sheath, no knife. So now I have sent another email about this item. Both of these were about $70, a big part of the order.
Has anyone else had this problem, and was it resloved, or am I just emailing in the wind so to speak? I had placed another order a few days ago, before this one arrived, and if it has items missing, I might be rather ticked off.
But what can I do if they refuse to replace missing items? Just have a good cry???

This would best be posted in "The Good, Bad and the Ugly." A mod will be along shortly to help you out.

Where did you place this order?

It was discount supply unlimited. The one that wasn't in the shipment was a Becker Bk10, and was the one I really wanted. Will have to wait and see what they have to say in their reply.
If this needs to be moved, feel free, I'm just rather ticked off at the moment.

i would say the thing to do is to contact the websight ya bought the stuff from and inform them that there is a problem and see if they will make it right - if not ya could go from there but anyway ya have to give them a chance first to make it right.

if they wont make it right do a chargeback if ya paid by credit card,

It's a shame that your order was incomplete.

I'm a firm believer in accomplishing a complete inventory of parcels that I receive. . . .before communicating with the sender that I've received the parcel(s) and all is well or that all is not well.

In notifying them that one knife was missing, then sending a second e-mail to notify them that another item is missing. . .well. . .I hope that they don't interpret that as a scam.

Hope that it works out for you.

I received email, they said their records showed the Becker wasn't sent, but did not know why, and said they did not know about the other one.
I received an email saying my second order had been sent, so will wait and see if items are included in the shipment.

In the future, as GigOne said, check out the entire order first, see that it's all there AND is what you ordered AND is what you hoped it would be.

Then, contact the dealer with any problems or questions. Email is good, but if you don't get an answer in a day or two, get them on the phone. If they don't have a phone number or street address on the website, you shouldn't be dealing with them in the first place.

Next, if you get no response, ask here on The Good, The Bad, The Ugly about the next step.

It's really best not to name the dealer right off, tarnishing a reputation that may not deserve it. We've had instances of dealers that messed up an order but came back to make it right. Give him a chance to do that.

The internet only seems instantaneous. Following through on quick communications takes patience. :D
