just a head's up...save your park ranger's # in your cell too in case 911 fails to answer in an emergency while out hiking. took a quick hike earlier today to blow off some stress and i come back to my truck with this damage
according to a witness, the lady who hit my truck pretended to leave a note but didn't so the witness instead left me a note with a partial info.
i tried to contact 911 over the span of 15 min but couldn't (it would ring once and then busy signal). it's really no big deal but with my luck lately i bet that lady will try to file a claim and might blame me so i wanted a police report to back me up. i ended up taking my trail map out and saw a # there so i called that and reached the park police with that and he showed up after 5 min or so of me hanging up.
anyway, looking at it from the bright side, now i know to save the park ranger's # in my cell and try that first before dialing 911. they'll most likely be contacted by 911 anyway in an emergency since they'll know the area much better and this might just save valuable time in a true emergency! just a head's up.
