Howdy traditional people (and sojourners taking sanctuary from the morass that is 'General'). I've been dong much more browsing that writing around here lately (only a good thing, I assure you) and seeing the recent crop of Giveaways got me thinking about how much I've profited, both intellectually and materially, from hanging around this great place. It also made me think that I really should be doing more to give back, and repay the kindness that has been shown to me. So, Ima give something away! All I ask of those who enter is that you think for a second about how you're being blessed right now, be it a huge and atypical windfall of some sort, or simply the Lord's common grace to let you wake up again this morning. Or just say "im in", it's all good. I'll let this run until the 19th, or whenever posting slows down. Thanks everybody for reading, and making this an awesome place for a noob like myself to hang out.

Oh yeah, by the way, the prize is an old Camillus made stockman. I'm thinking it's from the 40's or 50's? I don't know that much about it except that it's seen better days, but is still strong, tight, and ready for many more years of use. Closed length is 3 and 7/8 inches.

Great idea for a giveaway. Saturday before last my wife had to have emergency surgery after a early morning visit to the emergency room. Scary stuff.
She has been home since Thursday and is doing very well. Looks like a full recovery will be the happy ending to a few stress filled days. I can't think of anything that I am happier about than that.
Thanks for the chance and good luck to all.

Jim

Not an entry, but great post. Living conscious of blessings and oblivious to faults is the key to happiness. This forum is truly a great place.

Hey how right you are. This place is a small but vital reminder that graciousness and generosity are still running strong. I love those old Camillus Stockman's in bone so count me in. Thanks again for the GAW.

That's a beauty of a knife, I'd be honored to be included in the chance for it.

I feel blessed that my dad is still with us, after going through just about everything one person could be saddled with. I am also blessed that I am still here, after a close call in 2009.

Last, I am blessed to be able to participate in this forum with such fine people!

I'm going to visit my mother soon to celebrate her 80th birthday. I know how lucky, blessed, fortunate I am to be able to do that. (even if I will be getting the shakes a bit having to travel knifeless ;) )

I like those old Camilluses and have a few, but only in Delrin. I'd love the chance to carry that old fellow. Thanks for the chance, I'm in.

I'm in. I like a nice stockman.

two years ago was a bad one for my family. My 5 yo daughter spent 12 days in the hospital. 5 days later my wife had an emergency c-section, that went bad, and she needed a LOT of blood. Four kids needed tonsils removed, and then my wife got skin cancer. All has turned out well in the end. It could have been a lot worse than it was, and I'm thankful.

Not an entry, I've been lucky enough to have won 2 giveaways this year already and a few in the past few years but I am thankful and blessed for all the things this past few years has thrown our way, financial, health related family and what not. Still I thank the big guy upstairs for giving me another day, another opportunity to be here with and for my friends and family.

That a very generous giveaway with a great old knife, good luck to all who enter. This is a great place with great people, I like to call it home. :)

Great looking knife and an interessting piece of history.

I´m in this time - thanks for the chance on such a great old gem :)

I'm in, but only because I have my grandfather's old, broken, used-up Camillus stockman and I have always looked for a version that still had some life left. I've recently been the target of some ferocious forum generosity so if this one goes to me I'll pay it forward with another antique knife giveaway. Thanks for the chance!

Grateful- my family's recently been through something similar and I know how gut wrenching that can be. Prayers sent your way, glad everything's turning out well.

Jeff-good words to live by

Glenn & Rachel-thankful for you that your loved ones are still alive and well. Just lost my great grandmother a few months ago, and my grandparents are getting up in years, so the time is precious. Parents still got some years on them yet:)

fx- rough! Will pray for better times for you and yours.

Ted- Thanks for being thankful :)

Sonneman- ferocious generosity indeed! I've been on the business end of it several times as well.

Not an entry but I'm grateful for God's help in achieving six months of sobriety. One day at a time.

I'm in. Drama is off the charts right now, but internet friends are (mostly) stable, and that's really great.

Count me in on your generous giveaway!

I am thankful that after walking away from a high paying high pressure job I landed on my feet and now have a lower paying dream job. I am thankful for my beautiful wife who never doubted my actions for one second. (Okay - maybe for a second-)

I am thankful that I don't live some place or some time that is horrible to people. All of my problems right now are first world problems, and I'm thankful for that too! And I'm most thankful for my family- they are all that I wanted in life and now have it- the rest is just extra!!

And I'm thankful for the awesome people around here- if I am having a really bad day with people, just reading the goodwill and comaraderie around here helps to mellow the beast inside!! I would love to put that old girl in my pocket- it looks like a nicely thin ground blades on it!!

Thank you!

Thanks, great knife. I'm in.
Well my 84 yo mother fell today and spent the entire day at the hospital. Thanks god nothing had broken, that's why I feel blessed today, for her sake.

Mike
