I believe it's time to ban robert medina, user robertmegar, for failure to live up to his obligations. Even if the knife shows up, he's not met his minimum obligation.

I agree that should I fail to live up to my obligations in this passaround, I will be banned and my personal information will be published so that others will have "fair warning". This will be left up to the discretion of the moderators. Remember that participation in the passarounds is a priveledge and can be revoked at any time.

he has been on the forum, but has neither updated the passaround thread nor contacted us about what's up.

I will go back to pick it up as soon as my schedule allows, probably send it out to the next in line, Oct. 7 or 9.
He posted this on 09/26.

I know the frustration on working things out with a group :D but, I think you need to give him some time since today is the 9th or provide more information on why he should be banned now.

IMO, wasting 3 weeks of our time because of failure to communicate on his part is a banable offense.
Having a legitimate excuse is one thing, avoiding communication and being too lazy or forgetful to remember he signed up for a passaround is not legitimate.

Shrug, at least it's not my money involved (actually it is, but not that much)

3 weeks? didn't it arrive on the 27th? he can't mail it today, PO is on holiday.

I am not shrugging. I am trying to understand if I have the whole story.
He said he would mail it out on the 7th or the 9th. As heardhart pointed out the P.O. is not open today.

That is all the information I have at the time and other than "has not met his obligations".

I think the request to ban him is quite premature at this point with the information that has been offered.

Yes, lets get the knife back, then ban him. :D

Either way, if he knew he would be out of town for several weeks he should have planned more carefully. Regardless, I would advise letting him at least try to make good on the issue. As for him being logged on, he may just have a pc sitting somewhere logged in. Is there a way to see how long he's been logged in?

Interesting. If he got it I would think he'd let us know. Hopefully.

Dave,

All I am asking for is facts and there have been none so far.

Has anybody tried to email him?

Explain the 3 weeks with dates how did he make the group waste their time, if it is by waiting a couple of days (which is the only thing I have seen so far) then that is not enough to ban someone.

I am tired of your P.M.s that offer no facts. Post them here and we can decide what to do or offer nothing and nothing will be done. Your choice.

He's on now. I'll email him.

Robert,

We'd like to know the status? Where is the knife at this point? Let us know whether you have it or not.

Regards,

G3

Now that I have been given some facts. He is banned.

not to be a prick-but if he was banned and still has the knife how will he tell you guys he sent it out to the next in line-or does it look like it wont be seen again by a bf member?

If he's a stand up guy he'll send it on and email. He had no trouble getting a hold of me when he wanted in on the passaround.

In total honesty, I don't think banning him was the right thing at this time.
The more I look at that pass around, it looks like he received the knife out of turn on the 26 or 27th of Sept.

I am still trying to actually figure out the 3 weeks thing and still do not see it, at the same time the pass around thing has to be supported when people do not do as they say they would, but waiting a couple of extra days for a pass-around knife is by no means a waste of time.

Who actually owns this knife, I know you don't care about the knife, but I care about getting it back to it's owner.

I wrote the check for it. But it was purchased from the custom passaround funds. If you need to assign ownership to an individual, it might as well be me.

Then I will take steps to try to get the knife back to you.

Now that I have the other side of the story.
He is unbanned.
Mistakes were made by a few folks on this passaround.
And I don't see how any reasonable person could expect him to have returned the knife since he has move out of town with no advance notification that the knife was headed.

I feel positive that Robert will get the knife going as soon as it is possible.
I also want to publically aplogize to him. I thought I was being told the entire truth and I was not.:thumbdn:
