When to rotate tires?

I notice the rear tires wear faster in the center. The front tires wear faster on the edges (from turning). I rotate as soon as I notice that difference in wear patterns. Then when the switched tires wear out on the centers/edges, it's time for new tires.

If your tires are wearing out more quickly in the center, you're running them at too high of a pressure. As for the front tires, are they wearing the inside edge or the outside edge?

Ok, I see your point. They look fine where they should in the middle of the tires but I do use Armoral Tire Cleaner on the outside to make them look darker again. Is this the sign you mean?

Dont forget to replace the air in your tires with fresh air every 1000 miles ;)
I was going to send you a free knife but it looks like it won't happen now. Bad boy.

That reminds me! It's time to change the air in my head. :D

Same here. Every 3 thousand miles or 3 months or 100 threads.

The rear tires don't really wear out more in the center, more like a flat wear pattern accross the entire width of the tire. But the edges are hardly worn at all.

On the front the edges wear more quickly, both the outside and inside, from agressive cornering I suppose.

Oh man! I was just goofin with ya. Didn't you notice the ;) ?

Update!!! Had a screw stuck in my passenger front right tire so had the tire patched not plugged. The owner of the tire center ( Havird Tire in Columbia ) said that tires for Chevrolet were the worst for wearing on the sides! Tire prices are up due to oil cost. What cost me 300.00 for a new set 2 years ago has gone up 200.00 more.
