When Using a Serrated Blade Would Have Been Better . . .

That buck sheath sure looks well conditioned.

Turts was a bro.
That knife and sheath is close to 50 years old; probably one of my oldest knives.

The turtle was one we saved at work. He used to sleep on our submarine every day. One day I noticed he had a big fish hook in his beak. I wrangled him and one of the guys on our crew (who was a pro fisherman) got the hook out of his beak. Turtle did not like us for a while but after a few weeks he started coming back again to sleep on the submarine.

Had a nice Socom few yrs back had a 50/50 serrated blade ~ It's a nice compromise and sure would cut the crap out of anything * Leaving a nasty Jagged Result of course ~ Gotta Love It 🤘
When I sharpen a knife to a smooth mirror polished edge, it glides through the rope (whatever type) and results in a clean end. This makes it a lot easier and cleaner looking to splice or whip the end.
