  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

When was your last bite?

Last time I got bit was about three weeks ago when figuring out the spydie hole on Ladybug. It was a nice clean cut though, didn't even feel it until the wife's eyes got big.:)

i took a chunk out of my palm with a spoon knife a few weeks ago, it was a nice clean, and very painful scoop right out of the meaty bit of my palm

Opened up the side of my calf back in May with a spoon knife as well. Under doctor's orders, a nurse removed the 6 or 7 stitches 10 days later, and it turned out to be too early. Now I have a weird looking dark scar on my leg. Moment of inattention (aided by unfamiliarity with the tool) was all it took.

I've only cut myself with a regular knife once, when I was doing something with a sheath. I accidentally pulled the knife out and sliced my thumb tip open. Knocking on wood that it'll be a loooong time till my next cut. :)

Since we're approaching Halloween, I suppose I need to ask if our blades are really steel vampires that need a taste — just a taste, mind you — of our blood to stay happy?

lets see....2months ago i was playing with my CS Kopis Machete...deceided it needed some sharpening...somehow i cut myself on the thumb...didnt know it until it was dripping on my foot. on the bright side i guess it was nice and sharp!

before that i dont think ive ever caught myself, except with my felco pruners years ago...you should see my work shirts though, full of holes from wiping the blade down!!....i try to always respect the blade

If I actually did cut myself with a fair amount of blood loss, my wife would make me put my toys away and come in the house. Needless to say, I try to be VERY careful. :D

Unfortunately, I don't have a wife to tell me when I'm being stupid — which is just as well, I suppose, since I do stupid things on a regular basis.:D

I try to be very careful, but obviously I'm sometimes not careful enough.:o

The first knife I got from Bryan bit me about ten times. Since then the rest have had choils and I've had no bites....well other than a few little ones while working out the design of the striker knife.

Yeah, Mist, but you were working on something unfamiliar. I was just sharpening a knife; something I've done a thousand times before. Makes me feel really stupid.

My injuries have been from files and rasps lately, which is nice, a bruise and a cut, what a combo.

But, I did have a Spyderco Mule that I had just wrapped fall off a table and land tip first in my foot.

I did not enjoy it.

Yeah, well sometimes we get distracted easily when we are doing things we are so familiar with...it just happens.

I just knew I was going to make a major bloody mess cleaning the dried mustard off of the last couple of knives I've gotten from Bryan. For that I stay VERY focused!
