The Enzo Ferrari is a 12-cylinder Ferrari supercar named after the company's founder, Enzo Ferrari to celebrate the company and show case its know how. Hope this inspires you Sal

When will we see The spyderco Sal? :)
How would you guys imagine this knife ?

Given the same logic -
Enzo Ferrari died in 1988 X Enzo Ferrari started production in 2003 - I guess 15 years after Sal's death

Ergo I don't want to see it anytime soon :)

Sal is live and kicking. Hope he will be for many many years to come. I think it would be better if he makes The Sal because he knows how it should be more than anyone else.

I think the forthcoming ZDP-189/CF Stretch is essentially what you're talking about. Sal designed it to be the knife that HE wants to carry. I am really looking forward to this one.

I think it's already been done, but instead of the 'Spyderco Sal' it is named the 'Lil Temp'.

;)

The Stretch is a very nice looking knife, too bad it's not a liner lock :(

Nope, huge bias towards backlocks and especially compression/axis/ball bearing style around these parts. I guessI get it, they are supposedly stronger etc... All I know is I really miss the liner lock on my sahara jr and even my paraframe II compared to this Native... Yeah its a much better knife, but I miss the liner lock; much easier to work one-handed and allows you to 'flip' the blade out with your wrist.

Plus, I've only ever had 1 problem with liner/frame locks and thats when the crappy alum frame on my gerber broke.

I love liner locks as well. On a good knife, a liner lock is really strong. Take the Military for example, in tests, that liner lock stood up better than most other locks. I don't know where the myth about liner locks not being stong started but we as informed knife lovers should look at the facts and not be taken in by all the hype. Liner locks are very strong if done right. A poorly done lock back will fail just as soon as a poorly done liner lock, I promise.

Anyway, is there anything more natural than a liner lock/frame lock in the hand? I guess the back lock is better for left handed people but for us normal right handed people that the world was designed for, the line lock is great.

Looking forward to that CF Stretch as well! I really like the regualr stretch but a lighter version would be nice. As long as they keep it nice and slim, I think it will be a winner.

Actually I'm a southpaw and I've never had a problem with either left or right liner locks. Simply just push or pull it over, easy enough.

That is the ugliest Ferrari I've ever seen.

I agree. I've actually been for a ride in one and I've gotta say that for 3/4 of a million dollars I'd much rather get a Porsche and a nice boat! Or even better, a friggen house to call my own.

But, that spyderco stretch does sound interesting.

Sal said it will be (limited) production. From the sound of it, he isn't quite done refining yet. I'm already casing banks to rob so I can get a couple :D
