Honestly its this very reason I often dont even go in the BST section anymore. What bothers me about this is its either a seller who knows exactly how shady they are being or they are just incredibly ignorant. I understand the concept of starting high and working your way to reality but sellers need to realize that if you start your thread that goofy you are alienating the serious buyers. When I am looking to buy a knife and I see a seller being a moron out of the gate I just move on. Its not worth even trying to rationalize with a person who is that far removed. The best though was a for sale thread I saw where a guy was selling a "brand new" knife yet in his description he states he put a mirror edge on it. Poorly I might ad. You cant have a brand new knife that you give a willy wonky sharpening job. Thats like saying you are selling a new pair of underwear with a skid.

"When you see a used knife selling for retail"....you cry about it?!

There is a long list of knives, for a long list of reason's, that sell for more lighlty used then they do/did new.

Sometimes people are testing the market....nothing wrong with that, it's their knife and I can't blame them for trying to squeeze the most they can out of it.
Don't buy it, move on, grow up.......

People who complain about economics be all like, "yo, I gotta cry about this injustice!" when the very thing they cry about will only be used to open envelopes. For credit card bills. For the knives they open envelopes with.
