When your knife or knives all sell, can you please edit your title and say SOLD? It will make it easier for buyers to navigate through the threads. :)
Click "Go Advanced" to edit your title.
Locking the thread would be a good idea also.

A frustrated "for sale" searcher. :chargrined:

Even though your post was moved already, I totally agree. I made a post similar to yours a while back in the Community section - a mod said that they seller is supposed to edit the title and/or lock the thread but it doesn't seem to be enforced at all.

I feel your frustration as I am always looking through the ads also - I hate reading through a whole ad plus a few posts only to find at the end that it had already been sold.

I agree with this. I close my threads and put something like *SOLD* in the title. I also leave the price the knife sold for just in case someone is researching the market value of a particular knife.

That is a good point. I haven't listed anything for sale here yet (new here) but on another forum I frequent (camera gear) with a similar classified section, it is asked that you leave the price for the reason just like you say. I know when I am researching prices on ebay I always look at the complete/sold items as a guide.

Good practice, hate wasting time sorting through only to find that they are all gone already.

What I tend to try and do is to:

1. Change the title that the items are sold.
2. I do leave it unlocked UNTIL the buyer has received the item, just allows them some recourse if they want to post something about the sale.
3. Once both parties are happy, which is pretty important! I'll lock the thread.
4. At that time I can then also leave FeedBack for the person.
5. I also think it's a good thing for the other person to also leave feedback, too many times it doesn't get done, it shows that you took the time to show others that the person you dealt with is solid. If a person has a lot of Feedback given, but you check how many they've returned is not near the same, it's just not very courteous and may be an indicator for others down the road.

Yes, feedback is a two way street. It seems some sellers don't think it is necessary even after the buyer (me) leaves positive feedback.

I'm guilty of this. Just checked my feedback and realized I didn't leave you feedback on the 2 knives you bought. Now corrected. Thanks again......Bruno

Was haunting the 'for sale - fixed blades' forum ... set up a paypal account to make buys .... but so often absolutely wanted a knife, waded through a page of compliments ... only to find sold, thanks in the last post. Don't go there for now. Can't put myself through it. I have spent way too much on lesser knives that I would have wanted to go to individual knifemakers.

Thank you Bruno - but my post wasn't directed to you directly.......

Feedback is of course is more important for the seller as it shows their description, shipping, and overall transaction to be good. For a buyer maybe not as important, but still shows a commitment and quick payment follow through.

One thing I am guilty of is not leaving a seller feedback if I am not satisfied - I live too much by the adage of if I don't have anything good to say, say nothing at all..........

There is a technical limitation as well - tapatalk doesn't allow editing titles, so most of the time I end up marking the item sold in the main post.

Don't know what tapatalk is.......but even if people do like you say and mark the item sold in the original post - hopefully make it the first line of text in bold or something also works. At least that stops you from reading through the whole thread.

seems about right

I find many people edit their threads and delete the price. I prefer to know what something went for. Other forums make it a rule that the price cannot be edited out. I think it's a good policy.
