Where are knives made?

Buck: USA, China, and Taiwan. Varies from model to model.
Case: USA from my understandng
Cold Steel: Japan, USA, Taiwan, or China. Depends on models.
Kershaw: USA, Japan, and China. Depends on models.
SOG: USA, Japan, China, Taiwan.
S&W: China from my understanding
Schrade does theirs overseas, I don't think they make usa anymore

s&w or taylor cutlery has a couple of s&w labeled knives made in taiwan. the otf assisted is one. unelss we are including taiwan into china? i think we should seperate them though as they are seperate and allot of people like or tolerate taiwan made, but not mainland china made, etc. just a thought.

I know alot of people don't want anything to do with Chinese made products but some of the best fishing reels made in the US ZEEBASS and VANSTALL have moved production over there in the last couple of years. They are still the same quality products as before and still sell for $7-800 bucks each. Hate to say it but we are being undercut on labor...totally sucks

All Mora knives are made in Mora, Sweden. From scratch!
Leather sheats are not made in Mora today, but made in Sweden.
Former knife brands KJ Eriksson, Carl Andersson, FM Mattsson, Frosts (all from Mora) are today branded MORAKNIV ( = Swedish for Mora Knife).
As we are celebrating 120 years anniversary this year, please visit our web page http://www.moraofsweden.se/index.php?id=414 for more information

Welcome to BladeForums! It's great to have you here!

This is news to me about Frost cutlery as I wasn't aware they ever made any knives at all. So, where are these Frost made Case knives produced? Sounds like a very sad day indeed for Case if they had to stoop so low.

I also think the GEC made Taylor schrade trappers were a very short term deal a few years ago. It would be odd for them to be offering $10 and $60 trappers at the same time.

it's my understanding that taylor just does the crazy acrylic handles (harkens back to the crazy/old celluloid handles!) The knife is made by case, finished by taylor. I fail to see it any sadder for Case than Queen or GEC producing products for taylor. Taylors business model is to offer stuff cheap so offering a more expensive similiar product isnt all that strange, not everybody wants to buy a cadillac :)

Schrade trademarks are owned by Stewart Taylor DBA Taylor Brands LLC. And I know that at least one of his Extreme Survival series knives was designed by forum member Mistwalker and specified to be made in Taiwan of 1075 steel. I have one and it is not a bad knife. TBLLC also licenses out trademarks for use by some domestic companies on their knives like Walden Knife Company and Schrade Walden. Likely others as well.
