I'm having a custom knife built. I'm choosing the wood and pins for it. I'm looking for either some ironwood burl, cocobolo burl, or rosewood eye burl with really dark almost black colors. I'm really looking for cut knife scales, preferably 2 pieces @ .5"x2"x5" each or around there, it could be thinner.

I'm also looking for some mosaic lanyard tubes.

I've checked:
arizonaironwood.com
Knifemaking.com
Usaknifemaker.com
all had a great selection, but I'm looking for more options.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Duder

Check out Mark @ Burlesourc. He quite often has some spectacular woods for sale and most of them are stabilized.

I checked out his web store and I didn't see what I was looking for. He did have some insane wood though! That black bog wood is amazing.

Thanks

ive done most of my wood shopping on ebay. seems a little sketchy but ive gotten some beautiful pieces of wood off ebay, zebra wood especially.

Check out craigstevensstudio on ebay. He has some really cool stuff, and I think HHH knives gets a lot of his stuff from there.

If you want Rosewood Burl you are probably best to check with Randy Haas of HHH Knives.
I believe he still has some.

Otherwise if I have anything you like, blocks can be cut into scales at no extra cost. Just make a note during checkout.
Most of the suppliers will do that.
Be careful on Ebay. Craig Stevens is good but many others is a 50/50 chance.
You also might check with Alpha Knife Supply and K&G. Both are excellent suppliers and good prices. They might have the mosaic as well.

For Honduran rosewood try "exotic wood burl". He sells on eBay and has his own website. I've bought several from him, including the most recent knife done by Mike Williams. His stuff is amazing and he also has stabilized rosewood, which I have not found anywhere else.

Gene Martins wife makes excellent quality mosaic pins and lanyard tubes. Check his Site. I used a mosaic lanyard tube recently and really enjoyed how it finished out. I have both brass and SS, with brass, ss and carbon fiber rods.
