I'm working on a leather sheath and need some rivets with a post of about 9/16th to 5/8th long. 1/2" long posts are the biggest I could find at Tandy Leather.

Does anyone know where I could find some in that size range? I only need about 4 rivets with posts and hats (or what ever the top piece is called).

Thanks,

Heber

if I've got some to send you. They come by the 100 I fear but if you can use what I've got, I'll just send you some. They are called "saddle maker's rivets" and indeed, they are so heavy, that is what they are used for usually. I however use'em for sheath making too. Make sure you make (drill...) your hole for them useing the washer hole as a guide or you'll end up with some copper washer hanging out over the edge of you sheath! Another thought (and found on many very old scabbards...) is rivets made of lead wire.
