where can I find THICK, and large pieces of Micarta?

Hi folks,

I am looking a very thick piece of micarta for use on a Khukuri handle. The piece needs to be approximately 3.0" x 6.5" x 1.75". The catalogs I have looked in list micarta, but the thickest is only 0.375" (3/8") thick

. Is it possible to get big slabs, or is there an adhesive that I can use that will bond the material without sacrificing strength?

Any help would be appreciated greatly!
