...of the Sam Brown variety, for sheaths? I Googled and found 1 source in California.

kerry if you want studs talk to IG. he knows all the studs in Mass. at least.

Beat me to it. Really too easy, tho.

Kerry, I know you left this one wide open for comment on purpose! You're such an attention hog!;) :D

Keep in mind that the "Sam Browne" studs are not very historically accurate, if that is what you are going for. If you want more accurate, search for "screw posts". In addition, for lots of applications I find the actual screw posts to work better anyway. Screw Posts have a narrower post with a ball head on the end, unlike the Sam Browne type that taper like a cone with a ball sitting on top.

Charles, thank you, you taught me something. Didn't know about screw posts.

I don't do it FOR attention but I tend to be somewhat of a performer. I'm the "at least one in every crowd" you hear about now and then. Sometimes it's a good thing. :p

Funny thing is that I went searching for screw posts a couple of years ago to replace on a knife sheath my dad had made years ago when he was into the mountain man scene. Everybody had the Sam Browne studs but they just didn't look the same.

One nice thing is that unlike the Sam Browne Studs which you have to pound together, and don't come apart easily, the screw posts literally screw together. I would recommend a drop of clear fingernail polish on them to make sure they con't come off accidently though.
