He made me a few knives, among which is my Canadian Belt Knife. He told me to beat the hell out of it and "Don't worry, You won't break it!". I have used it to pry open stumps for fat wood, process food and game, cut trap and tent stakes, process firewood, you name it.

His HT of O1 is Fantastic! My favorite custom knife maker for knives that I know will take whatever I can dish out.

He doesn't just make "pretty" knives. Inquire about a custom!

Falkniven Northern Light Thor bowie.

I don't own one, but their very nice, and from what I hear they are very tough. They are also rather pricey.

I'd go with a Cherokee Rose from Himalayan Imports. If you watch for their Deals of the Day, you can sometimes get one for $90-$100. If you want something a bit more practical, but less beautiful, check out their Ang Khola Bowies.

Cold Steel's large bowies are classics that have been around for quite a long time now. I'll say the same for those from Buck. Both companies make great knives.

Second, cold steel.
