Where do lost knives go?

I lost a nice Buck lockback, onr of the newer models, heavy, SS 4" blade, red handles. My wife had given it to me. Cost about $70.00. About a year ago, it vanished... POOF!!!
I suspect it fell out of my slacks (shallow pockets) and got picked up by someone at work. Or perhaps it fell on the ground getting out of my car. I have looked everywhere. It was heavy, but quite comforting. Oh well, I just hope the new owner appreciates it half as much as I did.

A lot of them end up in the ground.

Pocket knives are not an uncommon find for detectorists searching long-used ground.

Thanks for the advice, but I checked it 3 times (seats, floor, doorwells, etc.)this past summer. It has bugged me for awhile, and most likely always will.

If it wasn't against the law, I'd start carrying a big fixed blade like my CS Trailmaster Bowie in a belt sheath tucked under my shirt and high up on my hip. Out of sight, handy, and comfortable. This way I wouldn't misplace it...LOL!

Mr Clark, the Chisel thing sounds painful...

I guess in the hands of some juvie delinquient here in NYC

Faeries are messing with y'all. Give 'em a little respect and a sweet and your knife will reappear. They are why you find things that were 'lost' in plain sight.

They are in a parallel universe, on the other end of a blackhole, right next to the giant pile of lost left socks. Who loves obscure cartoon references?

Yesterday I went to a knife store to buy a replacement for the knife I'd lost (see post above). Guess what? As soon as I came back home with the new knife I found the other one under my bed.

I swear I'd looked down there a few times, it just appeared!

Check your wife's sewing basket. Check the trunk of your kid's car. Check the tool bench in your neighbor's house.
