Where do ya keep your truck knife?

No Busse knives in the truck yet (unless they are on me). I do keep a Wilson Tactical ax underneath the passenger seat these days. I would replace it with a Busse Ax if I could get one. :)

I keep either my Sar5 or my HOG ASH in my Maxpedition pack at all times. It sits on my center console right next to me whenever I am driving. I have some other assorted blades floating around my truck also.

RD-7 on top of the dry box that's belted in on the back seat right behind me. i keep a mexican/indian blanket over it to keep it out of sight and from flying all around. gotta love jason's work.

I need to get a picture, but I keep my FBM Proto in a kydex Sheath strapped to a nylon strap around the head rest on the backside of my passenger seat. Shame my user is worth more than my truck!

Not really worried about thieves......'92 S-10...rusted hood, stock tape deck, stock rims (one missing the lug cap) and more dents and bruises than most other vehicles. But hey.....insurance is 26 a month, gets 25 mpg and it is a 4.3L V-6.

what about cops though.

i got thrown out of my car, searched and harassed all because i had a $6.00 WAL-MART machete laying on the floor behind my seat.

the looser even checked the dge for blood.my son was 3 and strapped into his child seat on the passenger side rear and mind you the machete was on the floor behind the driver side and there was no way he could reach it unles he grew a 5ft arm and the cop told me a was a bad father and deserved to have my kid taken from me.

so i'm a little touchy about keeping them where the......cops......can see'em.

3 officers on me for a six dollar machete that i just got done hiling and clearing pricker bushes with 5 min earlier.

people like that are the reason God created Hell

what where we talking about again??

Crash Axe in the bed. Otherwise, no knives in the truck. Not a big need for it.

OK, there's a Glock knife in the GHB - only b/c it's cheap and never used. Can't imagine putting a Busse in there to never be used 'cept in case of emergency.

i forgot about the GLOCK knife.i got one of those in the trunk to.other than scrapyard one of the best bangs for the buck.great little knife for cheap.probably the best knife for that price and who cares if it gets stolen

My truck knife is in my car. :D It, or rather they, are all Moras. For bigger work, I keep a large Fiskars axe in the trunk. Some of the Moras go in the trunk, some go in the glove compartment. I can't leave a Busse in my car - the knife would be worth more than the car! :D

Sounds like New York is pretty chitty on knife laws:mad:

Here in the good ole South, our vehicle is an extension of our home and we are free to carry whatever gun/knife in our vehicles concealed or open. Just best to let Officers know before hand about what is in your vehicle if you are about to get searched with proper Probable Cause. We also have the "Kill a Car Jacker Law" and our DA vowed to NEVER bring a person to Court who was within their rights about protecting their vehicle from someone trying to take it from them. Also......you can "pop a cap" in someone if you can articulate that you felt they (the alleged perpetrator) "COULD" have made entry into your home AND you feared for your safety or the safety of a person residing in your dwelling. We had a case like this were the "perp" was actually a 12 year old kid who was breaking through the window of an inhabited house when the owner put a few rounds from a 12 gauge into him...killing the child. The man was never charged because he articulated that he was in fear of his life and his families. The boys age never played a significant part of the trial because it was an "unknown" at the time of the shooting.

So we can really get away with a lot of "self defense" excuses. Also, there is NO State Statute dictating or limiting the size blade you carry. We have an open carry law here......you can carry WHATEVER you want openly gun/knife as long as you are legally able to (autos...etc)

Now once in Texas I was threatened with jail time because I had an OLD utility knife under my seat with about an inch of rust on it all because 2" of the top of the blade was grinded down....I dare say "sharp" and it now constituted as a double edged dagger!!!!

That sounds a good spot to keep it, I’d like to see a picture of that.

We have some draconian knife laws here, enforced mainly in the cities (probably for a good reason. :D) But in the country areas you would have to find a cop that didn’t like you pretty bad to trouble you about wearing a knife.

In the car is the same as in the home here, you are able to transport knives around legally.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I know that everyone who has a love for knives would have one in their vehicle somewhere. ;):D
